Description
I feel like I over paid a bit in both trades, but I also feel like I'm biased so maybe I should over pay a bit.

Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Carlo, Brandon
Additional Details:
I know the Bruins are not looking to move Carlo, but hoping this package may get them to at least answer the phone.
BOS
  1. Jokiharju, Henri [RFA Rights]
  2. Mittelstadt, Casey [RFA Rights]
  3. Rosén, Isak
Additional Details:
I don't know if this is works, but the thought is that Boston gets younger.
2.
BUF
  1. Lowry, Adam
Additional Details:
The Sabres need an older, defensively responsable center who can push the other team around.
WPG
  1. Savoie, Matthew
Additional Details:
I think Savoie is losing value each season, he can't stay healthy and has not performed in international play. This is a bit of a gamble for Winnipeg but the upside is definitely there.

I'm high on Mittelstadt, and don't think Boston will have many other opportunities to get a youngish top-6 C this good in the near future, so I'll break ranks with most of the Bruins fans on here: I'd do this trade. Especially with Rosen in there but I'd maybe even consider it without him. HOWEVER, I wouldn't do it until the offseason. Feels too disruptive to pull mid-season if you mean it as a deadline deal, and July 1 gives Boston opportunities to replace Carlo that may not be there at the TDL

This would be off season not TDL. I think Rosen gets included because both players are RFAs which depletes their value.

The Jets wouldn't do that but they'd be crazy to pass on it, Sabres would be crazy to trade Savoie for a bottom six forward.

There’s no way the Sabres do this awful proposal though
I think it would be something more like :
Mitts + Clifton (half retained)
for
Carlo + something

If that something is Ullmark, then we’d add something more
But that’s getting a bit crazy

I honestly don't have much faith in Savoie at this point and I'm guessing GMs are seeing the same things I am. IMO the Sabres need to move him while he has good value.

Ya, it is…but here’s the thing, it will have to be an overpay if you want him.

Mitts for Carlo in a hockey swap is probably pretty close. We could split hairs on it…whatever. Unlike others i’m meh on Mitts, the production is nice, the metrics say it’s a mirage. On the other hand there is Carlo’s concussion history.

If I’m GM i’m hesitant. Especially factoring in a new contract for him and what the demands will be. I can go out and get FW in free agency far easier they I can get Carlo’s replacement. And with Poitras, Lysell, Merkulov all needing spots i can fill it internally as well, something I can’t do with RD. I’d be more willing to pick/prospect route at the deadline. Once offseason hits i’ll lose interest.

So if he’s your guy…the guy you want. You are paying above market value. Otherwise you don’t get me interested.

🤷🏻‍♂️

it's just not happening. bruins aren't looking to take a step back and get younger.
