Hertl will be out long term with an injury so you wouldn’t get him back in action for a while.

This is for 24-25 so I assume this would be an offseason move. Personally I don't like the idea of moving Hertl, so maybe if the 2nd has conditions to upgrade if BOS advances to the ECF in 25 or 26

From a Sharks fan, I think this is an overpay for Hertl. Not that he is overrated (actually I believe he would more than justify his contract on a line with Pastrnak), but the term on his contract worsens his appeal.

To make up for this fact I believe the Sharks would be willing to take on a bad short term contract to even out the trade. I don't know the Bruins roster well enough to suggest a player who fits the bill.

They don't really have any of those left after this season. They've traded out or expired the contracts on all those guys.

I think the valuation is correct here however I wonder how the Sharks would weigh the lord of stability that Hertl provides at the current moment in the rebuild? Unless he’s replaced it forces young guy into a 1C when he’s not ready for it yet.

For Boston, can they afford to trade away more picks when they already have a thin prospect pool? Seems they’d need to use UFA instead?

If they acquire Hertl, it’s because they couldn’t sign DeBrusk
