Carolina would say yes for Kähkönen, but I don't see SJ getting Raanta because of his age.

They are both UFA's and if the Canes need SJ to take Raanta for the rest of the season to make the $ work then I think SJ would do that for a 2nd rounder. However maybe SJ shouldn't have to retain if they take Raanta. Or the canes should throw in another pick like a 4th or 5th.

Minnesota is expected to be done adding D with the waiver claim of Chisholm. Unless something changes, we won't be buying at all either. If anything, we'd probably be looking to send you Fleury (assuming he would waive his NMC).

Swap Honka for Nystrom and I think CHI has to consider it. Honka is not interesting in the least bit, imo.

Hawks decline. Swap Honka for a prospect the Hawks would actually want and maybe they consider it.

Garak mentioned Nystrom, what other prospects would the Hawks want?

I don't know much about the Canes prospect pool. I just know Honka isn't the type of D man the Hawks would have interest in. Undersized, offensive minded who struggles in his own end isn't what Hawks want on their blue line. Hawks would target a big bodied RD like Morrow or Legault. Or a bigger winger (over 6 foot) who can skate. That's the Hawks two biggest needs. Any deal for Murphy w/ retention is likely going to be an overpay from the acquiring teams perspective.

Giving up a first round pick is already an overpay from our perspective. The only other thing to be done is change the prospect to one the Hawks would want or even add a second prospect to it.

Edit: Also Morrow is not available

I'll start by saying I don't think the Islanders will trade Brock Nelson, especially within the division. But him at 50% retention it's going to run you a 1st, 2nd and good prospect anyways. Drury seems to be ok but not sure what his true upside is. As for Gunler, he seems to be an overseas prospect who isn't very talented. The "division tax" for Nelson (assuming they'd even trade him within the Metro) means it's going to have to be a higher prospect/pick than Gunler

All I'll say is that I got this trade from an Islanders fan and I actually added to it lol. I just picked a random prospect that I thought the Isles might want. Drury has more to give and he'll get more ice time elsewhere. His upside is a 2C, but he needs to build on his offense to become that. He's great defensively and at faceoffs and I think he'll be a good to great 3C at the least. Anyway, I appreciate the feedback, could add a better prospect depending on which one the Isles want. And I do agree that I don't think Nelson will be traded.

Keep Deangelo as far away from my hockey team as possible. He's not good and seems like just not a good guy.

Could Drury+Nikishin be had for Nelson without the other picks? Cause if we are gonna sell we’re gonna wanna be competitive and not want picks back necessarily. Ik it’s a lot but for Nelson at 3mil for 1.5 years it’s gonna take a lot
