That is genuinely as close as the Leafs fan base has gotten for Abruzzese's value. Still wouldn't do it.

Liljigren doesnt gave that kind of Value to ask for pick 35 on top of a retained Lyubyshkin. Maybe a 3rd round pick.

Anaheim will trade pick 35 for Easton Cowan, not Timothy Liljegren.

You can have Lyubushkin without retention for the Islander third. With retention, add the Chicago 2025 fifth.

What value do you think people see in Abruzzese?

Moronically asinine comment. You sure you don't want pick 35 for free?

If you knew anything about your own team, you would know that Fraser Minten was pick 38 and Matt Knies was pick 57 and then you wouldn't make such embarrasingly ignorant and unsuccessful jibes.

I really think Lyubuahkin, Bogo and Benoit (one of the most improved guys in the league , love him!) are all 6/7 guys on a contender?

So that D is not playoff ready?

Like getting MAF I like but also trading Jones vs burying Reaves? Humpf

he’s like a poor mans kerfoot. Nothing special - I know you guys are tired of seeing him in deals but his name was mentioned in the rumours so he’s obviously been in every mock trade since. Anything less than a 4th round pick and the leafs might as well keep him in the system because he’s a good pro to have in the locker room.

Lybushkin played on the top pair with rielly last time he played here. Schenn did the same sort of thing last year, you can have him on the top pair and then double shift rielly with brodie or mccabe. Bogosian however has been getting >20 minutes a game with the wild recently. He might be making a case to be a legitimate top 4 Dman.

And Reaves is someone I dont expect everyone to understand but iykyk. Im sure you’ve heard it before - he makes everyone around him better just cuz they can play with confidence. Doesnt even have to be on the bench every game necessarily

Avs accept. Jones is EXACTLY the kind of backup they're looking for and the price is right.

That's super fair. I think that he really only has value in Toronto at this point. Whatever team that acquires him either needs to shove him into the line up for 69 games next year or lose him for nothing, not worth giving up an asset for I don't think.

I could see value for a team trying to build a competitive prospect pool. He’s locked in for two more years and then he’s an RFA so theres lots of term to play with. He’s probably a better mentor than most of the washed up players that end up in the ahl. And he could make the show still so it could potentially be a really good trade.

If he doesn't play 69 NHL games between today and the end of next season he will be a group 6 UFA and anyone can sign him.

Schenn worked well with Reilly but not so much Lybushkin. I think he is a bad option for the Leafs in general.

Agree with what you say re Reaves but I wouldn't trade Jones is more my point.

What is a Group 6 UFA?
A player whose contract is expiring and meets all of the following conditions will become an unrestricted free agent (UFA):
- The player is 25 years or older (as of June 30th of the calendar year the contract is expiring).
- The player has completed 3 or more professional seasons - qualified by 11 or more professional games (for an 18/19 year old player), or 1 or more professional games (for a player aged 20 or older). This can include NHL, minor league, and European professional league seasons played while under an SPC.
- The player has played less than 80 NHL games, or 28 NHL games of 30 minutes or greater for a goaltender.

I'd take Abruzzese off your hands, especially if the price is Pysyk.

That said, in AHL deals, the Flames are more likely to look for D and not forwards. They will be even more shorthanded on the Wranglers after Tanev and Hanifin are traded.

That trade was a troll - sorry. The joke is that Conroy wants a first for Tanev

Yeah, figured as much, but you went through all that effort, so I figured that I might as well respond smirk

The rest of the trades are serious. Its to show what else could be returned with a first round pick
