I'm confused, most Sens AGM's talk about how good and untouchable Zub is in any trade. Wouldn't that mean he's a legit, RH dman for you guys? Why give up assets when you already have one?

Zub is a legit guy but I want Zub playing with Chabot on 2nd pair so Sanderson needs a partner on the top pair

For that package it would have to be a legit franchise star player, someone like Noah Dobson etc.

In the offseason either Roy, Pesce, Tanev or Demelo would be solid options (to varying degrees).

Roy would be a perfect add in my mind.

If Ottawa trades a LD it should be for picks and cap space. If they can get a RD good for them. If they can get their 3rd line defensive forward, good for them. But picks and cap space would be huge.

I think Chabot for Weegar one for one makes total sense for both teams.

That should easily get you Parayko if you don’t mind the contract and back issues.

Roy would be a good get for you guys. Chychrun for Roy might be a deal that can be done straight up. I don't think Roy is a top pair dman, but like Zub, he's very good defensively.

Why does it make sense for Calgary? Weegar is the better dman, and is on a better contract.

I would do that if they add. Roy is 3 years older (losing 3 years of prime) and Chychrun has an extra year on his deal

Weegar is quite a bit older. His contract goes until he is 37. Calgary has too many big contracts to older guys. Selling Weegar high and getting a very good dman in Chabot back for many years, would be a good play in my mind. Chabot ends when he is 31 or 32. Right around players start to fall off a bit.

I doubt they add tbh. Maybe a 3rd round pick or b level prospect.
