Time will tell but I just don’t see any team giving up a 1st for Tanev 🤷🏻

It'll come down to the wire, I agree. It'll be difficult but teams get desperate near deadline day. (Tampa-Jeannot, Toronto-Foligno, Jets-Monahan)

Hopefully teams are doing their homework; none of those trades you referenced worked (Monahan to Jets notwithstanding). I just don’t see Tanev as a difference maker and leverage works two ways; 32 teams in the league & only 16 make the playoffs so should be plenty of sellers by the time TDL rolls around. We’ll see

yeah you're right, but those trades happen EVERY year, so it's not completely unlikely.

If Detroit were interested in Noah Hanifin, This is pretty much the deal i'd see going back to Calgary. Unless Hanifin is willing to re-sign in Detroit and i'm not convinced he would. Then i seriously doubt we have any interest in him.

2nd+Vanacek for 4th is a steepish price to pay to dump Vitek

and that's not enough retention for holtz+1st

Vladar is closer to a cap dump than an asset. Don't see any reason why CBJ would make this trade.
