You think that's good enough for both? And just FYI, Toronto cannot afford that as is. Pretty weird they put up three trades on that article that don;t fit the cap.

Honestly the Leafs trade seems a tad low in terms of assets going to CGY. Primarily due to Reaves being involved.

The NJ trade seems plain hogwash. I can’t in any scenario imagine NJ trading their 1st this year along with Holtz for a goalie.

Remove Vancouver's first round 2025 pick and it's a fair trade.

Both the Markstrom and Tanev trades are absurd. Lower your expectations.

Reaves can be buried, he's not really the reason why it's light for Calgary. It's the 1.5 years of retention Mangiapane, while also not addressing any specific prospect needs for the Flames. Yes defense in a broad sense is a need but not so much offensive defensemen when Calgary has Poirier, Morin, and Brzustewicz.

Holtz was reportedly part of the package offered I would be shocked if Calgary didn't want a 1st too if there's retention. I think if retention was involved that is probably pretty close to what may have been offered

Canucks pass easily. If Vancouver was willing to do this Tanev would have been involved in the Lindholm trade

I cant believe VAN would return to the well (CGY) for a third time this year.

The NJD deal is probably doable but without 1 of those pieces. Holtz and a 1st AND they throw in a goalie dump (Vanecek) might work for both.

Not onyl can TOR not afford both those players, but Hanifan is probably worth Niemala, Robertson and the 1st with retention, leaving Mangiapane worth a 3rd (taking reaves off their hands is probably a 5th). Its too light a return from TOR, IMO, I dont think robertson carries a ton of value (to CGY who have 3-4 young wings already and robertson (with his injury history, size, healthy scratches is not worth a high in the round CGY 3rd), and reaves carries none AT BEST.

I think at one point I said that Cambell had the worst contract in the league. I take that back, Ryan Reaves has the worst contract in the league. Wouldn’t touch that contract with a pole double the size I’d use to stay away from the Cambell contract. He’s worth negative value to your team.

Retention of Markstrom would be a completely different story.

Yeah devils pass unless you throw in Noah Hanifin at minimum.
