ALL IN Trade Deadline for the Leafs!

Note: This does not include adding Bottom 6 Forwards as it's so unpredictable which depth pieces they'll bring in for a cheap return, a 4th rounder for a Bottom 6 Forward for instance.

Additional Details:

The Leafs give up 2 of their 3 best prospects in Robertson & Niemela as well as a pretty good prospect who we don't know as much about as he's only 18 in Easton Cowan, the Leafs 1st Rounder in last years draft. They also include a 1st Rounder with two 3rd Rounders to get Saros

I'm not sure what you all in the comments will think value wise although I think this is around the value Saros will get in a trade.

Love Saros, but you are bankrupting the Leafs to do this. Add Samsonov to the trade ( Nashville needs to replace Saros), take out Cowan & Niemela. Take out 1st or get 1/2 retention.

I don’t think this is the type of package NSH would be looking for, so I’d lean towards them declining here

People don't seem to realize Samsonov is playing well now.
Saros season GAA. 3.05, Samsonov 3.25. And that despite that according to 90% of CF followings the Leafs don't have any NHL calibre Dmen, except for Reilly.
A silly overpay for Saros.

Samsonov gives same stats at 1/2 price. So yes if you want to 1st, you retain.

We're talking about the same Samsonov no one wanted for free off of waivers? The one who's worse than Saros in basically every stat category, and who's cap hit is more than half of Saros'?

NSH isn't trading Saros for two 3rds, a cap dump, and an undersized, always injured, near-bust. Be realistic.

No goalie is worth this much. One who's not been overly great this season certainly isn't getting a return this high.

Unless you are looking at something different than me; trade proposal also includes a 1st (albeit 2026) & Easton Cowan our top prospect & 2023 1st rounder, currently setting records in the ohl.
It’s an overpay for a goalie having a meh season, but including Cowan makes this proposal certifiable.

Cowan absolutely has star potential; Leafs were ridiculed when they picked him in late 1st and his ascent since then has been incredible to watch … but to each his own. We agree the trade - or any version thereof - makes no sense for either team.
