crazy idea

Description
with some loto luck what would sabers do if they go 1st. (again)
tage, cozens, mitts, krebs, savoie, kulich and ostlund are all 1st round pick centers in the system already. (7x)
I think tage has lost some value compared to last year, and mitts has out played him on 1st line this year.
cozzy is younger and would proable fit age group of linemates better.
other option is just trade back and pick up on of elite RHD in draft and some other assets.

some level of team sucess would make sending guys away harder, at least i think so. Its been a while since i have seen it being a sabers fan and all.

Swap rinzel with a prospect that doesn't play RD and the hawks accept. If Buffalo was gonna trade Tage they should've done it this past offseason. His value starting to come back down to earth along with his numbers

Guys been playing 3/4 of the year with a bad wrist, Rinzel is a Nice prospect but that's all he is. Those picks would need to be Better

Well if he's injured AND costs more the hawks aren't interested.

He broke his wrist awhile back, think he came back to soon. But that should not keep a team away from him, even though it would probably take a overpay for the Sabres to move him. Especially with his contract.

I dont get why buffalo would trade tage at all. But wrist injuries are tough to recover from. They should really shut him down until he's fully recovered since they're not making the playoffs this season

Said that a couple games ago, he just doesn't look right. Yeah, I don't know why they would move him 1st. Think Mittelstadt or Cozens would go 1st. Not to many 6'7" players that can stick handle like him, even in close by his feet. Pretty wild to see sometimes and then that shot! Gotta Rocket

Maybe it's in anticipation of him never repeating what he did last year. If I were BUF's GM, and considering Kulich is on the way (among others), I would VERY MUCH be trying to figure out which one of Tage, Cozens, and Mitts, to move, and/or figuring out any way to create roster and cap space. Which, yeah, they have plenty of it now, but it's going to get eaten up pretty quickly over the next 3 to 5 years.

All I know is CHI isn't going to move Rinzel, espcially not if they are moving Murphy.

Hawks decline. This trade has the Hawks moving Murphy, along w/ Rinzell, who is Murphy's likely replacement. With no other RD prospects in the pipeline. This deal as constructed makes zero sense for the Hawks.

There is one big flaw with this whole scenario, you have Celebrini going to Buffalo and we all know the NHL wants him to ride shotgun in Chicago with Bedard.

Soooo, Thompson doesn’t work as a 3rd line centre. Hawks decline.
