Yes trading a 1st round pick for a soon to be 30 year old winger really fits with the Flyers rebuilding plans. Philly absolutely declines.

Canucks aren’t giving up that much for Guentzel

Mikheyev doesn’t return a 1st

Don’t think Dallas does that unless they’re desperate to dump Faksa

Duclair isn’t worth a 1st

Dubas would have to accept that trade. He wouldn't want to but he would have to.

Guentzel is one if the best forwards in the NHL. That isn't cheap.

The Florida 1st is very low, I think Mikheyev could pull in a high 2nd or low 1st.

I agree on the Dallas trade and think Duclair is probably worth only a low 2nd or B prospect

Guentzel is great no doubt, but giving up a 1st, a high end prospect, and a young middle 6 player in Hoglander who’s having a great year is too much to give imo

Mikheyev has been struggling lately and has a high cap hit. I can’t see him bringing in more than a mid round pick if he’s moved

What would you think about Mikheyev, Lekkerimaki and the 1st instead for Guentzel

Personally I don’t think the Canucks should move Lekkerimaki for a rental, even though I’d love the look of our top 6 with Guentzel. But having him on an ELC for the big years of OEL’s buyout will be important

In this trade, I can see Van resigning him so I think it would be worth it on their end.

He has lately but the year overall has been good. He is still 2nd on the team in expected goals 5v5, has decent defensive numbers, and is signed fairly cheaply for 2 more years.

They would be less excited but would probably still accept.

If Dubas didn't accept that trade he should lose his job immediately.

I mean he has to tell his boss that he is trading away the best winger his boss has ever had.

That is a hard conversation to have with Crosby.

If they're not going to resign him in the summer b/c they can't come to an agreement on $ then it isn't a hard conversation at all and Crosby would be the first one to understand it given he and the core have continued to take discounts.

Easy trade, not to mention you have a solid middle 6 LW under contract for another year at $1.1M.

You move someone like smith in the off-season and then you really have cap space to cook with and even resign Jake with.

Would be a no brainer to me.

I would agree but Crosby isn't a creature of pure logic. Emotion plays a part in everything.

I do agree that Crosby would come around but it would still not be his favorite.
