Description
Updated and improved trade deadline moves for the Toronto Maple Leafs using feedback from the forums of the Trade Deadline Push v1. I addressed a few notes including:

1. Better/more realistic suitor to take on Kampf's contract while adding better picks in to make the deal more enticing for the rebuilding Blackhawks (who are already familiar with having Kampf). Going back the other way is 25-year old Taylor Raddysh - a bottom-six defensive forward on a 1-year deal. Born and raised in Caledon, Ontario; the odds of this guy growing up watching the Leafs is pretty high.

Note: Teams like ARZ, ANA were first choice to take on Kampf's contract but he has a M-NTC and I doubt Kampf would want to go to a team like Arizona or Anaheim: Chicago made the most sense out of all rebuilding suitors.

2. Not giving up a first for Tanev, who is an aging D-Man on a 1-year contract. I understand CGY wants a first for him but it seems unlikely that there is a team out there willing to give one up for a player like Tanev. Hanifin makes sense, Tanev -- no. The Leafs don't own a 2nd round pick from '24-'26 so CGY instead gets two prospects who need the opportunity to break out with an additional 3rd and 4th round pick.

Note: Due to salary cap restrictions, Tanev will have 50% retained but should be no issue for CGY as his contract expires after this season.

Flames ask is supposedly a 2nd with retention. You have no 2nd round pick, and giving up two mid prospects and a 3rd does not get it done. Someone will give up a 2nd and maybe more for Tanev.

Gonna be tough. Certainly there are teams with better prospects. The Leafs will probably have to pony up a first for Tanev where other teams can offer their 5th or 6th best prospect. Also nobody is taking on Kampf and giving anything back other than an AHL player and that's even a stretch.

Flames will likely get more from some team. Kampf is a centre need, not a fourth line winger.

Makes sense. I was actually all for giving up a first for Tanev but a lot of Leafs fans feel offput by it due to his contract, age, and prior trade deadlines involving our first. Easton Cowan and Minten have been amazing and I do not want to give them up. Does Niemela make things more favorable for CGY?

IMO with a guy like Matthews you need to do it. Minten and Niemela potentially.

Hawks decline. They're set on mid round picks and bottom six guys. Raddysh scored 20 last year and although this year has been disappointing, he's an RFA.

Understood. Does swapping Raddysh with a 7th rounder make it more appealing or would the Hawks just not want to do anything with Kampf's contract?

Wrong. Flames want a 1st not a 2nd and they don't want to retain that would cost extra.

Hawks decline. Take Raddysh out of the deal and the Hawks still decline. Takes a 2nd to dump Kampf.

I would assume they want nothing to do with him in general. Not that he's a bad guy or terrible player but this team is loaded with bottom six guys (some playing top six roles currently) so adding another bottom six guy is redundant. This team could trade half their roster and still be set with bottom six guys. Adding picks are nice but they're not high-end picks which I wouldn't trade to dump Kampf if I were Toronto.
