Canucks pass easily. Since it’ll be an offseason deal Guentzel is worth a mid round pick at most since he’s a UFA. Pettersson, Smith, a 1st, and 2nd isn’t close to Pettersson, let alone having to add Garland as well

Not even close value wise. Pens don't have the assets for a Pettersson deal. Realistically Pettersson isn't getting moved either

Hey, I agree this isn't enough, but "Guentzel is worth a midround pick"??

That's crazy, especially cause we just watched the Canucks trade much more than that for Lindholm who is also a UFA. And Guentzel is worth at least the same, likely more.

In the offseason Guentzel would only be worth a mid round pick because it would be his UFA rights. And a Pettersson deal only happens in the offseason. Obviously right now Guentzel is worth a 1st++, but he wouldn’t at the time a Pettersson deal is made

The Penguins easily decline. If the Canucks want that return, they add Boeser returning to the Penguins.

Here are the parameters. If the Canucks want Guentzel, they send Boeser.

Pittsburgh doesn’t have the cap space. Instead, pens add a 1st and Boeser goes to Philly
