Hawks very easily decline. Robertson needs to string together a couple healthy seasons before he regains that much value.

The real gem there is two proven NHL players , one of which ( Frost ) could mature into a really good player for a totally unproven fairly low profile ( being kind there ) major junior player..

That's the 32 pick in the draft; Robertson isn't worth that much

Captain of Team Canada's world Junior Team, likely the best known junior player in Canada aka "low-profile"

Not to mention he made the NHL the year as a 19y old lol.

Dude if you don't know anything about hockey. That doesn't make one of the top prospects in the world "low profile".

Hawks easily decline. Robertson is worth anything close to a top 35 pick in the draft.

Robinson does not have anywhere near 2nd round pick value.

Robinson does not have anywhere near 2nd round pick value.

Just to put in perspective to Hawks fans how absurd this stance is:

This season...
Reichel (21y old): 10 points in 50 games, 0.2 goals/60, 0.8 points/60
Robertson (22y old): 19 points in 40 games, 1.1 goals/60, 2.5 points/60

To company more Apples to Apples
Reichel (20y old in AHL): 0.93 points/game
Robertson (20y old in AHL) 1 point/game

Since you'll talk about physicality next:
Robertson 25 hits in 40 games this year
Reichel 20 hits in 50 games this year

Then you'll talk about defence:
Robertson (this season): 19 blocked shots and 14 giveaways
Reichel (this season): 16 blocked shots and 28 giveaways

So please tell me when you have a guy one year older who is 5x better goal producer and 3.5x better point producer while having better defensive and physical metrics. How is it that you'd value the better player at "not anywhere near 2nd round pick value" but you'd value the worse player at a 1st+.

I'll still take Reichel all day long over Robertson. Robertson's injury history is the biggest "no thanks" for me. And Robertson's smallish stature is another "no sale" point. Hawks have plenty of undersized, speedy, skilled forwards in their system already. They need some top 6 caliber prospects who have some size. Hawks simply aren't spending a top 35 pick on Robertson. He's not a player the Hawks would target. If the Hawks are spending that pick on a 22 y.o. Leafs forward, it would be Knies, not Robertson.

Oh I think I know a thing or two about hockey . I played to a high level , I've coached , my kids all played , I've consulted and scouted. I'm 55 yrs old kid . And Fraser Minten is NOT ONE OF THE BEST PRODPECTS IN THE WORLD . You will learn, or you won't ..

And sadly you think he should have been captain of Canada's U20 team ? Do you love the game or do you love the Leafs ?

If you new as much as my 3 year old about hockey you'd know no fan can say who should be captain. I have no idea what the dynamics in that room were.

Calling Minten "low profile" is probably why you aren't a scout anymore lol.

Are you sure I'm not still involved in identifying talent for some local teams ? You are being silly . Minten ....ok...he's gonna b a superstar ! Feel better ? I don't care if you think you are funny or you " win " I don't know you . You might even be likeable ..But as far as hockey goes you have much to learn

I was just reminded by my son that in Fraser's draft plus one season he scored ( or is scoring ) at a roughly point a game pace . This is rarely a PPG pace that ends up being a top six producer at the pro level. But I wish the kid well. Prospects can end up being late bloomers and grow their game tremendously. By this point I hope you're intelligent enough to realize I'm not arguing with you .

So its clear you haven't worked for an NHL team for at least 7+ years since I haven't worked with one that doesn't account for Spring/Summer birthdays when projecting D+0, D+1 and D+2 results. Minten has a July birthday so he's played 1 year less than almost everyone in his draft class. Once you account for birthdate his numbers (and the fact that he made the NHL as a summer birthday in his D+2) make his closest comparables Bratt, Virtanen, Perron, Kopitar.

Who ever said I worked for an NHL team ? Hey kid , good luck . I hope you figure it out some day . It's easy to argue . Having intelligent dialogue that may have some constructive criticism involved.....well that's a man's discussion. And it's not personal.
