Description
Jets fans, thoughts on going after Tarasenko? I realize paying a 1st isn't ideal but man this line up looks good!

Walker added for obvious reasons and Bortuzzo acquired simply for depth.

Not sure if Tarasenko fits with Bowness' defensive scheme? I don't know how good defensively he is.

not that it's a bid deal...but why are we retaining Bortuzzo's salary?

I wouldn't do it for a first. Tarasenko is nice and all but I wouldn't want the Jets doing that.

I also wouldn't pay a high 2nd just to change the Jets 7D from a left to a right shot.

He is fitting well with Jacques defensive system and Staios completed his defensive game about a month ago

I think the Flyers consider this, they likely want the 2nd in 2024. Stanley makes no sense, he isn't a prospect. Plus Philly has been scouting Manitoba recently so its likely that any players headed to Philly would be from the AHL.

Coming into the year I expected a mess defensively, based on many peoples opinions of his game. But watching him 50+ times this year, his overall game is very mature. He's not going to kill penalties for you but he always makes the right play and always looks to steal pucks. I would definitely prefer to extend him but if WPG were to trade for him, they should also try to extend him for 3 years. Still a very solid player and will make any contender better. He's the 2nd best forward available right now after Guentzel

Fair enough! I was thinking they might go after a younger AHL D so that's fair.

I think the 2024 2nd from MTL, a future mid round pick and D Simon Lundmark would work
