Canucks pass Myers has been okay this year. I think if he can baby his injury until the end of the year is the hopeful goal to give us 6m of LTIR to use at the deadline.

chicago passes too. if they were willing to give a 4th for olofsson, they would have done it in the offseason.

Hawks obviously decline. What possible reason would they have to spend a pick on Olofsson now?

Seriously, ask yourself this question; why would anyone send a 4th round pick for a grossly overpaid, underperforming winger whose contract expires at the end of June? Furthermore, why would a rebuilding team piss away a draft pick?

Ridiculous.

though process is he is worth a 3rd if he had a lower cap hit. Blackhawks have cap space and $ but lack a full line up of nhl players.
also i think 10+ 1st and 2nd round picks in next 3 years so lower picks will be squeezed out anyways.

Teams don't trade for a guy on the hope they can flip him a week later for a better pick. As much as that gets proposed on this site, that doesn't happen in real life. And if Olofsson is worth a 3rd w/ retention to a playoff team, why wouldn't Buffalo just retain on him and get the higher pick? They have plenty of cap space too.

There is no way the Hawks are going to throw away a draft pick for two months of a below average NHL winger regardless of how many picks they are currently holding onto.
