Chicago would have to offer up Frank Nazar and Sam Rinzel plus the Tampa Bay 2024 first to start discussions about a Zegras trade. That might be enough, IF Zegras were on the market, which he isn't.

Nolan Allen is a LhD, therefore unappealing.

Don't see Anaheim going for that package for Zegras. Hawks will probably want the Toronto '24 1st in the Murphy deal. And I doubt they'd burn both their remaining retention slots in the same deal. Vlasic gets at least $1m more. Out of all those UFA's, Wennberg and Chatfield are the only two likely targets. Hawks aren't signing 6 UFA's.

Which is the EXACT reason Kyle from Chicago doesn't inquire about Zegras.

Zegras is absolutely not anywhere close to being worth that.

Wholeheartedly agree. To mix metaphors and sports, it makes absolutely no sense for a building Chicago team to trade potential home runs for a youngster standing on third base.

You're clueless.

For comparison:
Lukas Reichel, first 84 games: 10 goals, 16 assists, 26 points, -44
Trevor Zegras, first 99 games: 26 goals, 48 assists, 74 points, -15

If Reichel plays every one of the 21 games remaining in the season, he's still odds-on not to record half as many points in 105 games as Zegras did in 99.

Here are some more fun facts: of all players wearing a Black Hawk jersey for the four seasons from 2020-2021 through this one, only Patrick Kane recorded more points than Zegras despite the fact that Z has played only 19 games (plus three shifts) this season. Only Kane and Alex DeBrincat scored at a higher rate per game than Zegras. Black Hawk forward over that span still in Chicago who has the most points: Philipp Kurashev, with 96 points in 245 games; Zegras has 146 points in 200 games.

You typed all that so sure of yourself, but omitted the fact that he has 7 points THIS season. Hawks aren’t breaking their rebuild for “Michigan” merchant. I’m not keen on Reichel either but you also omitted Nolan Allen and Torontos 1st as a part of the deal. Allen being one of the Hawks clear cut most ready D prospects. Again you don’t leverage a rebuild for an injured 1 way player

Now you're just embarrassing yourself. Research why he has 7 points this season.

Just curious. Zegras played 156 of 164 games across his first 2 seasons in the NHL, and had no major injuries pre-NHL. So he never missed any meaningful time until this year. How do you define injury prone? Because that doesn’t feel like injury prone to me at all

Yep. I saw that. No way Hawks re-sign Zaitsev. Especially if they target Chatfield as you did or some other RD. And I doubt Beau gets re-signed either. He hasn't contributed much since joining the Hawks.
