OTT
  1. Parayko, Colton
Additional Details:
8. Colton Parayko, RD - St. Louis Blues

Blues GM Doug Armstrong isn’t afraid to make bold moves and Parayko’s name swirled around the trade winds this time last year leading up to the trade deadline. Parayko has a full NTC and six more years left on his contract. It’ll take a big deal, and his approval, to make something happen, but word is the Blues are exploring their options.

TEAMS REPORTEDLY LINKED:
Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa
STL
  1. Chychrun, Jakob
Additional Details:
13. Jakob Chychrun, LD - Ottawa Senators

It wouldn’t be a trade deadline without Chychrun on the Trade Watch List. Only now, he’s in Ottawa. Sens GM Steve Staios tried to calm the public waters, but as TFP’s David Pagnotta reported on Jan. 15, the Senators are listening and willing to consider trading him. Chatter picked a week leading into the deadline.

TEAMS REPORTEDLY LINKED:

I am actually curious to see what blues fans think of this....naturally RD is more valuable then LD so I would imagine they want more, but if they want more of a re-tool than rebuild getting out from under that Parayko contract in the long term has to be appealing.

Pagnotta has been saying the blues will trade Parayko for years without anyone close to the blues organization saying so. He's our most important defender. The only reason we would trade him is to do a full teardown rebuild for picks and prospects. The only reason we would want chychrun is to play him with Parayko, so trading Parayko for Chychrun makes no sense for us

Wouldn’t STL need to retain or add a bit?

such a dumb statement. Devils wouldn't be floundering if they had Parayko as he's a defender who actually defends...

He's literally in the top 10 if not top 5 of nearly all the individual D stats. Against the toughest competition of any Dman. Half the time with the Blues 3rd and 4th lines. What are you on about, man?

    You know what ?

    You're right.

Given what Tarasenko was just traded for, I'd be surprised if Ottawa got a couple of seconds for Chychrun.

Steve Staios is now Pierre Dorion 2.0.

    tears of joy

Dude, you need to put down the analytics and watch hockey. I say "He's literally in the top 10 if not top 5 of nearly all the individual D stats. Against the toughest competition of any Dman. Half the time with the Blues 3rd and 4th lines." - which consists of two sets of objective data facts and a widely agreed upon vaguely analytic thing, and you return fire with a barrage of the most analytic-y analytics known to man.

And you say it proves Parayko is like Dumo. And you think that's reasonable. Based on those analytics.

Booooooy, that is not an advertisement for those analytics. More like a "wizard" behind the curtain exposé.

I mentioned individual stats and objective data. And I mentioned competition, which depending on the source may or may not be partially tied to analytics.

In no way was I 'using analytics". At all.
