Description
Another wasted year. Another top ten pick. What do they target at the Draft? I’d say Demidov but did the Panarin / Bobrovsky experience deter them?

I’m not sure how you can put together this roster, see there are six Russian names on it, and wonder if two Russians who wanted a beach and a garage, respectively, five years ago might deter them from a certain teenager.

They've got Voronkov 1) as a winger and 2) scratched; that should tell you plenty about how much they were paying attention.

Where's Jiricek? "Another wasted year", sure, but we're already the 2nd-youngest team in the league, and ther's 4 CBJ 1st-rounders under the age of 24 in that lineup already (5 if you throw Jiricek in there, which he should be).

The year started with turmoil, got derailed entirely by injury, and the team became allergic to 3rd-periods. A young coach, new GM, and development by the young NHLers should have this team pushing for a playoff spot either next season or the year after if they're all healthy and we're patient.

Many teams are apprehensive about the Russian factor. None of those players on this CBJ team are star players. Taking a top prospect around 5th overall would likely become a star player. So they have reason to be concerned.

It just seems like they’re in a perpetual rebuild year after year despite having top ten picks year after year.

Silly us. The much smarter Bruins fan knows better.

They’ve only drafted in the top 10 with their own draft picks twice since 2016 lol

We last made the playoffs in the 2020 bubble, and could realistically push for the playoffs in 2025 despite a near-total roster overhaul (only Werenski, Jenner, Texier, and Elvis remain from that team).

Even the Rangers, the poster child for a historically quick rebuild, missed the playoffs for 4 years (2018-2021). And they had the benefit of a won draft lottery, something Columbus has never had. Kreider and Zibanejad are the only holdovers from both rosters.

People need to adjust expectations here.

Playoffs every year. 6 Cups. 3 SCF appearances since 2011. What was that again?

CBJ should have won at least a couple Draft Lotteries.

Okay but you said they’ve been drafting top 10 every year when it’s only been twice in the last 7 seasons

Bruins have one cup in the last 50 years. If the jackets win one cup in the next 25 years they will match that pace lol

Gotta make it past the second round in order to do accomplish that.

Well whatever. They’ve had high picks for many years. We are splitting hairs here. It just seems like the organization is struggling every year.
