Description

Devils fans, the Sens were also in on Marino at the time and I have to wonder if they wouldn't circle back this summer. Are you comfortable running your top 4 with Siegan-Hamilton -- Hughes-Nemec and Balh-TBD on the bottom pair or is Marino still part of the plan there?

Bonus points if you throw a Sens/Devils trade idea up. I honestly don't know where the value falls for you guys.

Marino is weird, I can’t tell what he is. Is he a full time defensive 2nd pair guy? Because I see him on literally any pair at times

Habs can be interrested on a player like Marino, likely because Savard is gone after 2024-25 and they will need a 3rd RDman.

What's your offer for him?

I don’t see Marino moving from the NJ side. Don’t think he’s untouchable, nor should he be, but it’s just prettty rare to see a younger righty like him with a good contract move

Player deployment in NJ has been as erratic as it gets this season. Especially with the Dougie Hamilton injury.
He gets the second most minutes of any other NJ defender, but I would consider him a second pair guy when health isn’t an issue.

He's not having the best of seasons but i dont think either side is looking at this season as the "real" Marino. I just see Hamilton/Nemec and I wonder if Nemec played Marino out of the top4. Marino on the 3rd pair seems like a waste.

More of a good problem to have kind of situations and the contract gives NJ flexibility to be patient if they even want to move on.
They’ve showed they don’t have an issue putting a good defender on the 3rd pair before though, with severson last year when they used him as a self rental for the year

I doubt they move him this summer unless they sign someone else.

Maybe Casey pushes his way into lineup for 2025-26 and we'd sell him in a year.

But right now, at his contract, we are happy with him.
