How are the Canes able to consistently make the worst jerseys known to man?

If the caps make the playoffs, they deserve it lol.

Their schedule is mean:

2 more hurricanes, 2 more leafs, and the rest: mostly contenders. The “non contenders” remaining are Buffalo who look kinda like one recently, and the senators.

With the Binnington living in the matrix these days, I did a little stat digging. Since Jan 1:

2.32 GAA
.925 sv% (2nd in the NHL over that span)
15.5 goals saved above average (also 2nd best in the league)
.72 GSAA/60 (1st in the NHL)
200 high danger shots against (1st)
.890 high danger save percentage (1st by a country mile, next closest is Bob at .862)

I'll say it again: if he continues playing how he's playing and the Blues make the playoffs, he should probably be a Vezina finalist. Not suggesting he has any chance to win, but dude deserves the respect. An .890 high danger save % is plain ridiculous. Full season leaders tend to be around .860-.865.

I think the more shocking thing is: Guess who's number 1 in Save percentage since January 1st, 2024 (minimum 10 games played)?

That means the Bruins and Panthers won't... Which is good

But that means I have to accept it isn't our year 1 month earlier... Not good

2v1... I'll accept it

Because out of all the goalies, I don't think UPL registers as one of the best...

Good young goalies tend to improve on their first 46 games. Probably not normally this much, but maybe he was slept on a bit. Maybe this will be his career best run. Who knows?

If you actually were to guess, you'd prob think Sway, Igor, Sorokin, Vasy, Oetter, etc. That's what's crazy

Well, if every player played exactly to their norm every single game forever, sure. But that's not how it works. And bro, Oettinger has been a major Dallas weakness this season - which is more shocking to me than a young goalie having his first hot spell. But potato poh-taht-o.

One day Bettman will be gone and the NHL will finally make some positive changes

Like the ECHL format for OT would have been perfect for the NHL but the old grunts be allergic to it

And some of the other proposed changed feel like they were already in the game at some point before or are present in some way shape or form lul.

Damn, just saw the news that Chris Simon passed away today at the age of 52. One of the toughest guys to ever step foot on the ice, but one of the most genuine and sincere guys off of the ice. I had the pleasure of attending a few hockey camps he put on Longlac, just a 20 minute drive away from my home town (aka the middle of nowhere). Just a super kind guy and made a real big impact in my early life.

New Jersey Devils Alt/Stadium Uni's are terrible...
Play-x-Play chump must hate that the black #'s are unreadable and it's "6-red-blood clots" skating on ice!

Yes. And also bring in the draft system the PWHL has in place

Instead of a draft lottery they have an elaborate system where teams begin collecting points after they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. The team that collects the most points is awarded with the first overall pick, the team with the second most gets the second pick, and so on. I think its a much better idea than a boring lottery, and keeps things interesting in the regular season.

The rules the PWHL implemented are so exciting, such a fun league

So you tank hard then load up at the deadline. 😋 That's a sick rule awesome. Do they have any quirks to the 3 on 3 overtime?

Exciting and entertaining but not necessarily conducive to the competitive aspect of the sport.
The NHL can improve, but the PWHL is going a little too far. I understand they want to be more entertaining and differentiate themselves from the men's leagues.
I don't think they are good ideas for the NHL.
