Joseph shouldn't be traded. Cheap contract for what he brings to the table, and he brings elements that they don't have enough of. Speed to kill, great PK guy, 200ft commitment, energy player. All things Ottawa needs more of in their forward group

i probs agree, but the sens were trying to move him all Summer. I think it's more bc his cap hit bc they couldnt sign pinto originally before the gambling stuff

Our pick is currently slated at 8th overall. Cory Schneider, an elite 26 year old, got 9th overall. No goalie has returned more than that since. Vastly overpaying for 1 year of saros

That top-9 is awesome, but 1) it'll be a tough sell to get Stamkos to leave Tampa, and 2) the Jenner trade isn't close, and he's not available.

Left side would need some help still, unless Hughes immediately turns into a Norris contender next season (which is much more likely than Jenner being traded).

Not really anything im interested in from a Nashville perspective:

Bahl - dman that requires waivers. We have 5 nhl contracted dmen next season. Trotz is trying to extend carrier which would make 6. If he doesnt get carrier we still already have 3 NHL LHD. So Bahl doesnt really fit. If he were two years younger sure.

Foote - ends up on waivers

Holtz - another winger to throw onto our pile of top winger prospects Evangelista, Tomasino, L'Heureux, Kemell, Wood, Fink, Schaefer, Lind. We need centers.

2024 1st - wont be useful for 3- 4 years. Trotz is wanting to be competitive now

You asked for Boone. You already know the answer.

And getting Saros is going to require someone like a Mercer or better.

1 year of saros coming off a mediocre year is apparently worth more than top prospect+ top 10 pick+2nd+young roster dman+prospect. Delusional

Not saying he is worth more. Just saying what you are offering isnt what nashville needs. Casey and your 1st is more in lines with organizational needs.

Bahl just muddies the defense that nashville has and possibly ends up on waivers and gets claimed.

Same with foote.

Holtz creates a bigger issue fighting for a roster spot with nashville's already overly crowded wing pipeline.

It just doesnt fit their needs.

Casey and our 1st could have been on the table when our 1st was 15th overall and saros had 2 years left. With our 1st at 9th overall now and Saros with 1 year left, that is no longer happening

No real deal to be had then. In terms of actual prospects, Casey is what fits the needs and the 1st would give Nashville the best chance of filling its other need (center). The only other deal would be something based around Mercer which im sure is also off limits.

Nashville doesnt want to give up its starting goalie as they dont have an immediate replacement no matter how good Askarov looks he is still an unknown quantity. Trotz has seen rebuilds fail because of shoddy goaltending. New Jersey doesnt want to give up high end assets because goalies just dont historically fetch that kind of assists. Both are fairly understandable positions to take in my opinion
