Celebrini have already a massive natural connection with Hutson, even because Hughes know Smith a lot.

Hard pass by MTL.

I agree but a top 9 of

CC-NS-JS
JR-WS-KD
QM-OB-FM/JP/TI

in 2 years time is nothing to be upset about either

I don't think Smith is a lesser option to Celebrini to be honest.... not by that much anyway. But Celebrini would fit way better in the Habs system than Smith.

Habs need more goal scoring vs another playmaker (edge goes to Celebrini), Smith is another right shooting center, Celebrini is a lefty (Habs already have Suzuki and Dach, and to a lesser extent Beck as right shooting centers...so edge goes to Celebrini again) and Celebrini already has elite level chemistry already established with the Habs best prospect... Lane Hutson...

So if MTL wins the lottery.....Zero chance they trade it

Celebrini is hands down a better player its not close.

He is doing everything smith did without the same level of teammate support and at a younger age.

Smith will be a top 6 winger in the nhl. Celebrini will be a franchise centre.

I understand this is fantasy GM, but how many 1OA picks have been traded in the last 50 years ?
There is a reason why those kind of trades don't happen : risk management. A GM could lose his job and reputation if his move doesn't pan out with this level of assets involved.

Also, I see a lot of things in Celebrini that scouts saw in MacKinnon back in the juniors. One doesn't simply trade away that kind of potential, whatever the return.
