Would you make this trade as a Hawks fan?

Probably yes, even though Nylander is peaking now and the next couple of years without aligning to the Hawks rebuild plan which is to say their window won't begin to open for another 2 seasons. My only hesitation is I don't love his $11.5M cap hit going on 29 years old in a month as such, but the value on paper weighs in the Hawk favor for sure.

I would probably take it.

If i'm Kyle Davidson, I am not doing that trade. Nylander is turning 28 in May, has a full NMC, and an $11.5M cap hit for 8 years beyond the current season. The only reason CHI should move Jones is to get out of his contract because he doesn't fit their window, not to jump into another one that is even larger and longer. CHI should want young roster players and futures for Jones, and they shouldn't be adding anything or retaining to get it done.

The value probably favors the Hawks. But I wouldn't make this deal. I don't like Nylander's deal any better than Jones's deal. Bedard and Nylander would certainly put up a boatload of goals, but who's playing D on that line? Or winning any board battles for pucks? Nylander is a great offensive player, but a little too one dimensional for my liking. This deal also then creates a HUGE hole on the Hawks blue line. Lilypad isn't a top pair guy and Hawks have no one in their organization who can do what Jones does for them.
