Plenty fair but I can't see Colorado wanting to move him after they traded away Byram.

More than understandable. Do you think Colorado will be resigning Trenin and/or Duhaime?

Not unless Landeskog can't return. I'm sure they'd love to keep at least one but probably can't afford either.

Well that's good to hear from NJD's perspective. They've been near the top of my list for bottom 6 targets for a while

Colorado should jump in this. Girard isn't worth near that much.

Doubt AVS move him as they made their choice with the Byram move

Sure the 9OA is tempting but this is a young Dman on a good contract and they in win now mode. Unless they get Hanifin this FA is not great for LD

I have no stake in either team... NJ would definitely not do this.

The 9th overall pick, in a weak draft might I add, is likely to be about an ordinary 2LD. Or what Girard is right now. And that is after years of development which does nothing to help a contender like COL in the short term.

Sure he is. He's a known quantity in the NHL, plays in all situations and moves the puck well. The Avs won't be moving him anytime soon, especially not for a lottery ticket that won't be anything near what he is for at least 3-4 years.

I do think it's possible to keep either if they go long like they did with Wood. Not exactly likely to happen but it isn't farfetched, either.

You would trade the 9th overall pick for a smallish left handed dman who has 16 points in 46 games on one of the better offensive teams in the league?

Didn't know I could get a top 10 pick for henri jokiharju

25 years old, in my opinion he's an excellent top 4 dman. Term at a fair price. His numbers are excellent. Imo he would be a fantastic addition to NJD blueline and exactly what we need. If we can get him cheaper, sounds even better to me.

Avs fans wanted to cap dump him last offseason. To each their own. Blues will trade you Perunovich for your 2nd round pick wink

I think he'd be a good fit and was mostly looking to see what the cost would be. Maybe I could get some retention for that price or another asset back, who knows.

NJD looking for a somewhat young, puck moving top 4 LD who is defensively sound and can kill penalties. Ideally should slot in with Marino.

Hanifin, Skjei, Girard, Pettersson, etc. But I think it's a big need for NJD. Hopefully siegenthaler bounces back and can become that again, but that's not a guarantee.

What's the price on Samuelsson or Ryan Johnson?

Would want a hockey trade. They are higher on Samuelsson than I am

No, they did not. A lot of Avs fans were honest in that one of the D at least was going to have to be moved. Based on Byram's performance at that point Girard looked like the odd man out on the left. That is all.

Girard probably doesn't get a top 10 pick simply because to a degree they're an overvalued lottery ticket. He probably does cost a first plus however were he to be moved. Can't see the Avs moving him as well though, having already moved Byram.

I would think a trade for Girard would be more akin to the Hronek trade were it to happen just for the sake of the discussion. I believe that was 17th OA and a 2nd for Hronek and a 4th.

He plays 19 min a night and has 16 points in 46 games this year. For his career he’s an even player. He’s also left handed. Hronek is a righty…I don’t see it but this guy does so good luck.

Like I said it's unlikely he gets moved anyway. The Avs seem to have made the decision there already unless they plan to tear the D down beyond Makar and Toews.
