Both trades are overpays, but that Kings deal is awful.

Was referencing Toronto having "two elite young goalies" and they traded Task and bet on Justin Pogge lol

Oilers wouldn’t do that, no need for another LD

Los Angeles wouldn't consider trading their 40-goal scorer for that package for a nanosecond.

Yes, we would not do that, but I would also like to add onto Owen’s post. Although we have no need for a LHD, we also are not trading McLeod. He plays a way too significant role on the oilers, so we would be creating a MASSIVE hole on the forward group. Now, with that being said, we may have some interest in Henri Jokiharju, if we believe he is good enough to play a top 4 role. He would be the only guy that we could get off of Buffalo, that could potentially be wanted.

He’s so underrated, it’s not even funny! I don’t see LA trading him at all, unless it was for a huge upgrade. Genuine question, do you think he resigns in LA?

Yes, absolutely.

I'm less sure about Matt Roy.

Bryson at 50% below his Qualifying Offer is pretty strange, too.

Having him in the lineup over Ryan Johnson is pretty absurd even, Lol

Fingers crossed that Brandt Clarke isn’t too far behind if they can’t get Matt Roy back then. Doesn’t look like he did too bad in those 16 game spread he has had thus far this season!

Why in your right mind would you think the Sabres would do that LA trade

I hate to disabuse you of the charmingly ingenuous fantasy that Matthew Savoie is the next Patrick Kane or that Devon Levi is the next Ryan Miller, but Los Angeles wouldn't trade you Adrian Kempe for that package even if the 2025 first were guaranteed. You wouldn't trade Tage Thompson or Dylan Cozens for that package, and they're not having the seasons or the career that Adrian Kempe has -- and he's 20% cheaper.

I would 1000% trade Thompson or Cozens for that package, especially if Thompson and Cozens were 27 turning 28 and just hit their peak as Kempe has. Theirs a reason Kempe is already falling off

No from LA without hesitation - Kempe is one of their core players, there is absolutely no reason to trade him unless it will upgrade the Kings big time. Juice is a fan favorite; trading him, especially for that package would be so senseless. He is going to sign a new long term deal with the Kings before the end of the 2025-26 season
