Unless there is a giant jump in cap for 25-26 you'd have very little to re-sign Hoglander, Boeser, Boqvist. Would be tight.

Should be a jump of about $2M, Boeser will get no more than $2M he's making now, Hogs will get about $2M more than he's making now and Boqvist probably gets his salary cut, easily achievable if Garland is moved.

That's pretty conservative tbh. This site has the NHL estimate for the Cap increase to be 4.5 mil from 24-25 to 25-26 (so up to 92 mil).

I know this is hypothetical but, there is no logical reason for Reinhart to leave Florida, he'll make more money, he's playing his best hockey, the team is better and everyone is in there prime. They'll be competing for 3-5yrs after this one baring crazy injuries or something just as (un)luck based

Florida can't realistically hope to re-sign him, they have so many holes that need filling along with almost all their dmen are on expiring deals. Signing with VAN lets him come home (he's from VAN) and play for the same team his Dad played for. Yeah he'll lose more to taxes but Vancouver is also an amazing place to live and again, you can't put a price on home.

Oh they absolutely can resign him, shockingly easily.
Trading Rodrigues and Knight frees up more than enough.
You also need to consider that signing in Vancouver for 9.75mil, he could sign for 8.25 in Florida and still get payed more

Florida has to choose between having depth and re-signing him, I could be wrong but I just don't see them being able to keep him

Depth for them can be found for cheap
Players like OEL will sign with them to ``prove`` themselves and win
they won't have a super balanced team but the top 4 D and Top 6 forwards should be good with decent guys on the bottom

Oh god, we finally get depth and it makes the Canucks super successful, just to sacrifice it entirely plus all futures to make an elite top 6. That would be horrendous team building IRL.

And while I think Boqvist is decent, he's the opposite of what the coaching staff likes in their dmen.

There’s nothing even remotely enticing in that Keller deal. Late 1sts and 3 projects don’t replace Keller.
Novistic liked this.

Boqvist is potentially available, but I don't see anything in that proposal that is actually useful or valuable to the Jackets.
