This is something different so I'll give you credit for that. However Byfield is hands down the most untouchable player on the Kings, Kopi the hall of famer gets traded before Byfield at this point. However if for some crazy reason Blake decided to get rid of Byfield this package would need a little bit more, like changing that 2nd to another 1st. Peterka and the 1st you already have in the trade are the only pieces of value in the realm of Byfield right now. Krebs has been trash this season and the Kings are a playoff team now so who knows how long it would take for Krebs to get NHL ready.

Not knowing who kulich is is kinda something.

Krebs has been an NHL player for 3 years

Canes might consider that, although the Sabres might have to add a little to seal the deal.

Byfield isn't worth all of that - I think Adams says no honestly. I also don't see Krebs being moved since he's Bo, and Cozens best friend - if he does it'll be next TDL and not in the offseason

We have our own Kulich and a better one in Ziemmer, whom also wont be able to help the Kings win anytime soon.

This would be Byfields 3rd yr in the NHL, if Krebs were to be having even half the season Byfield is we might be having a different discussion but unfortunately he still hasn't devolved the way he should.

He was playing with okposo, girgensons and Eric Robinson because we have Thompson, cozens and mittelstadt. Only now that mittelstadt is gone has he gotten more time.

He did admirable in the role he was in btw.

Also, kulich has had maybe most successful teenage ahl career ever. Your guy doesn't touch him.

Not saying LA would or should trade Byfield, but I doubt any team in the league beats this offer (and I wouldn't do it) peterka alone (same age as byfield) has outproduced him

Can we agree that neither Buffalo or L.A. needs/wants to do this?

Games played difference.

I was wrong, Byfield averages 2 pts more per 82. Guess we should add a lottery pick, an A prospect, and more. Also peterka has one more elc year left, meaning Byfield will be making like 10x what he does

They have very similar ppg numbers early in their careers. If we give the look in totality, there are a few factors that help boost each others value. Byfield’s size and center position aids his a little more, while Peterka scoring the actual goals so far aid his. I’d roughly put JJP at roughly 80% of Byfield’s (my fictional) perceived value. Call Krebs and Turcotte a wash. That leaves a first (notated at 10th overall, a top prospect in Kulich, and a second making up that difference. On pure value, this is pretty lopsided LAs way. That said, can see why people don’t want to give up on a unicorn of size and skill Byfield has. As for the guy who said add Tage and still no, lol.

I can count on one hand all of the players in the league that I would consider trading Byfield for, and none of them play for Buffalo.

I guess the combination of he was a major piece in the eichel deal, being friends w/ cozens, Bo (chemistry and vibes in the locker room cant be underrated), and limited exposure in a higher roll. I think he still has another year to prove himself when others get injured, etc. It is also in Buffs favour to want to develop him more if possible to increase his trade value - mention 1 year ago that Buff could trade Mitts for Byram 1 for 1 and everyone would call you crazy.

Think about what you'd want for Thompson and that's what it would take to get Byfield. I get that it's over the top but LA isn't moving the next Franchise Center without a massive over pay.

Thompsons first 4 NHL seasons he had 145 games played with 35 points before he started to breakout in his 5th season. Now Byfield in his first 4 seasons has 164 games played with 82 points and looks to be breaking out a year before Tage. LA isn't trading another star before they breakout like they did with Faber.
