Burakovsky’s game and production has fallen off a cliff since signing with the Kraken, can’t see anyone paying to take on the remaining three season of his contract at $5.5m per.

Burakovsky has spent more time on IR than Jonathan Toews has at the vegan buffet (hint: that's a lot)! That's a hard pass for Chicago! Yes he's talented but he can't stay healthy and his best production came with a loaded Colorado team. He won't have the supporting cast here like he did there. Just look at his production with Seattle, and that's not a knock on Seattle. Not many teams are as loaded as Colorado! I'd play the patient game in Seattle and see if he bounces back next season and maximize the return then.

If you want to pay CHI to take his contract as a pure dump, I think CHI could be interested in him as a "rehab project". But, if you are looking for a team to pay for him, it is highly unlikely it's gonna be CHI. Think along the lines of when Calgary dumped Monahan on Montreal. You pay us a 1st to assume responsibility for his contract, and if we can replace a few parts and get him running nicely again, we get to turn around and make a profit, and if we can't, at least we were compensated for the bad contract. If Seattle needs the cap space, that is how it's gonna go... unless they can dupe some poor GM into paying for damaged goods.

At his best, I love Burky and think he would be a great top 6 add. But that is a long shot at this point, and is a lot of cash to pay for nothing, if he continues being hurt constantly and playing poorly.
