It's not a trade lol. I was saying we should've taken Peterka over Jarventie, and if we never traded for Chych we could've taken Benson at #12 before the Sabres picked.

It's not supposed to be a trade. I'm guess this guy is too lazy to write an explanation. Chicago trade was not trading for Debrincat and drafting the same guy with the pick. Seattle trade is either protecting Daccord some how or claiming him back on waivers. Buffalo trade is not trading for Chychrun and using that pick to select Benson and also not selecting Jarventie and instead selecting JJP.

Sens went with big forward. He still could be useful, bigger guys need more time to adjust to speed of the game, they are not gonna dominate physically in NHL.
Chychrun trade was good trade, he was producing nicely for Yotes, cheap, long contract - worth 1st, from not-rebuilding team.

Not sure, how can you blame GM for that. Teams sucks, for variours reasons, and adding Benson and Peterka would not change that - look where Sabres are.

The issue is Chych is a left side defenseman when we had Sanderson who already showed promise, and Chabot. Chych deal is great if we didn't have one of those dudes. Dorion was just name hunting to try and save his job and not worrying about fit.

You aren’t wrong that it isn’t all a GMs fault however… Since 2017 Ottawa has only drafted 7 players in the 1st round. (4 in the top 10 1 of which is Boucher) Considering they traded Stone, Karlsson, Duchene, Pageau, Hoffman, all in their prime at the start of the rebuild you’d assume there would be a few extra prospects in the pipeline.
