Description
A continuation of my previous post (https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4998805) after receiving some feedback from TBL fans. As always, I am happy to hear your thoughts on this!

Alterations:
- Stamkos is re-signed in Tampa at a discount.
- Cirelli and Jeannot are traded for cap space.
- Tampa acquire Texier, but not Olivier.

As a CBJ fan, I'm not entirely certain that I'd be interested in a Jeannot-Texier swap. CBJ sure do have the cap space to it, I just don't know that Jeannot's upside is much higher than Texier's. But I guess that Jeannot would add some much needed grit to Columbus, so I suppose I could see the sense in it, even though I like Texier. Since TBL's cap issues are well-known, I assume they would have to add (if they really target Texier, that is).

I don't know what the return for Cirelli would be or what team would be interested, so I just threw something together. I'd be more than happy to alter it.

Cirelli is a good 3C, but his cap hit and offensive production make this a poor deal for PIT. They have a cheaper defensively responsible 3C already in Eller. 3C is not their issue like it used to be years ago. The team has many other gaps and keep futures and cap flexibility is more important than a 3C upgrade.

Basically don’t sign Duclair and Monahan. Keep Cirelli. You’ll still need to get rid of Jeannot in a cap dump and get Stamkos to take $4M.

He's not a good enough 2C for his cap hit with Malkin and Crosby.

As a Preds and Jackets fan, that Jeannot/Texier swap goes into "#### right off" territory for me. Jeannot doesn't have anywhere near the upside Texier does and Texier is a better disruptor of the opposition.

No; he got hot at the right time and his confidence was through the roof. But then the puck stopped going in and he stopped really playing the game that had made him successful and the downhill slide quickly became visible. Some of us were hoping he'd find some way to turn it around, but ever since the trade it only seems to have accelerated, if anything.

Considering your loyalties, I'd say you are the ideal person for feedback on that trade from my side. Thank you.
