Teams don’t do offer sheets. Only time it happened, there was a retaliatory one done. It’s not a realistic method to acquire players and it locks up your picks.

If you are doing a trade with the Kings, expect it to include Ullmark and PLD. The question is what pick/prospect combination would the Kings have to add to make it work.

PLD and a first for Ullmark and a secondary prospect?

PLD, a 2nd, and a good prospect for Ullmark?

Why would you give up on Lysell?
That OS is ridiculously high. LA would be crazy to match it.

But the retaliatory one was hilarious

I realize this is ridiculous, I was just curious at which point LA would say screw it and take the picks. Anything lower I assume they would match.

In regards to Lysell, I just needed an asset to reacquire the Bruins pick in order to make the offer sheet work. You can plug anyone in here as long as it resulted in the pick being returned.

i'm not so sure they match, that's a pretty aggressive offer sheet.

btw, both those trades are ridiculously bad for boston. what team do you think would hire sweeney after neely cans him for making those moves?

As indicated in reply above the Lysell trade was just to guarantee the Bruins’ pick comes back. Feel free to substitute whatever assets as long as the pick is returned. I don’t think the Ullmark trade is that far off. Remove the retention and that’s probably the type of package one could expect.

I don't know how they'd fill out the team. would have to dump some guys for sure. Although I am nearly certain byfield will have a deal worked out well before free agency hits so LAK knows exactly how much they'll have available to spend

Have you seen the kings cap situation? If there's a team to offer sheet it's them

The Kings can sign Byfield to a long term contract. The open issue is it likely costs them Matt Roy unless he takes a significant discount to stay in LA. They have Brandt Clarke who can replace him and they would sill have money left to go after a solid vet LD at about $3.5M less than Id expect Roy to sign for. Less if they pay more than a minimum for a goalie

It’s one of the reasons I wonder what they’d add to a Boston deal that includes PLD and Ullmark. That 3.5m difference between their salary is right at the slot that opens up the resigning of Roy. I’m thinking it is a second and a prospect. I wouldn’t be shocked about a first with Boston sending a secondary prospect of their choice back. Matt Roy is a big part of their defensive identity and a tough player to walk away from. If he played left side, I’d want the Bruins to pursue him
