      1 - Kelly isn't getting that much.
2 - I'd rather keep Norris and hope he is healthy, if not LTIR him.
3 - Unsure if Hamonic would waive even if going to a cup contender because he wants to be close to his family.

Yeah I forgot to put in the explanation, more or less what I am looking at is any team that is willing to take a flier on his potential further health issues for his upside. This could be his last bad injurr or he could be forced to hang them up early. But either way you when he is healthy he is a game changing center.

Not sure why any team is jumping to get Forsberg without retention

Brannstrom is a NHL regular, for sure trade him if you don't have a spot.

Chychrun doesn't fit the team, needs to be traded so you can invest in a RHD

It's a risk but it could pay big time since you're not paying much (Reichel lost a lot of value and a 3rd round pick is not much for a player of Norris caliber). Tarasenko is also a guy who had 3 shoulder surgeries

Same. Might as well hope that he regains his form or LTIR him. Unless they can sign a big fish and need to move his salary

Last year (adjusted for an entire season) Reichel would have been a 50 point guy. He also looked lights out in preseason games but lost confidence when the season started. At 21 I'm not willing to give up on him yet and I think trading him along with a 3rd for an injury prone overpaid guy is definitely a sign that someone's given up on him. I could be wrong and Norris could turn things around health wise. That's not a gamble I'd be willing to take though.

TB gave away a better Bogosian and have Crozier NHL ready and Schmidt a year away on the right side Lilleberg NHL ready and Carlisle too on the left. Easy pass

Which is why the Hawks aren't going to sell low on Reichel. He's had a bad year despite looking much better since just getting called back up, but they aren't going to give up on him after his first NHL year and having trouble adjusting to the NHL.

Trasenko had 3 surgeries from age 30-34 during the back half of his career, Norris had 3 from ages 20-23. The latter doesnt bode nearly as well for his long term health.

Hawks will take their chances on a bounce back from Reichel. WAY TOO MUCH risk involved in acquiring Norris. Dude is still owed over $50m on his deal. Even if he ends up LTIRetired, Norris still gets paid his bucks. And if he is able to play again, who knows how effective he's going to be.

The Norris trade is not logical. You should probably change your name to "Hopefulicesports".

Lmfao nice, I'm not a Sens fan so I don't really care either way. I am just making a point to say if there is a team out there that is willing to take a risk on Norris his return should be around that

haha. I had to. I guess you are kind of right. Though, I think Reichel's perceived trade value is a lot lower than it should be. One poor season doesn't change what he did last year and it doesn't change his upside. He is 21. I also don't think many teams are taking that risk. Contending teams need players ASAP, and rebuilding teams need their prospects and assets. OTT is the perfect example of a 'tweener' team that should take a risk like acquiring Norris, and, obviously, they already have him.

Yeah but insurance pays 80% of the salary, big contracts are insured.

Yes and no, of course it's better to never be injured but the younger you are, the better your body recovers. Some guys had pretty good careers after early injury trouble, including concussions. I'll let that in the hands of time and science.

All that said, I don't think Ottawa will move Norris, he's young and will be patient, or just LTIR which allows some latitude like it did this season
