Hawks wouldn’t be interested in either of those proposals… and yes I know Ceci’s proposal says “anywhere”, I am answering from a Chicago viewpoint, they will not give up anything for him.

I feel like they’d be interested. Probably can’t attract many FA’s currently and Ceci can plug holes in the roster at the cost of nothing

Still not enough anyway. Saying this is an equivalent of two 2nds and a 1st two years from now? No thank you

I doubt they’re getting more than that for Buch unretained. Maybe to the right team they can get a good young player and a second with retention

Heh. He is not on the block. You're thinking of on the block prices. This is closer to he's not available but sure dazzle me with things I actually want prices. Bourgault is okay, I would not be mad at having him on board, but he's not a lead piece to get Buch retained or not. The obvious starting point to an Oilers bid is Broberg. And with no 24 1st available, even that may not get it done.

Chicago already has Jones and Murphy playing top-4 RHD. There are lots of teams that would value Ceci, but Chicago is not near the top of that list.

You're undervaluing the Oilers players you've traded, by a LOT. All of Ceci, Kulak and Kane are worth more than the returns you have here.

Chicago had no problem signing UFA's last off season. There are always players in free agency looking for a payday. Hawks won't be trading away draft capital for short term veteran guys. And Kane likely doesn't waive for Chicago anyway.

With how the coach has treated him im sure he’d waive anywhere. At this point he’s threatened with being sat

Wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info. Kane is an effective player on the ice for sure. And a 4th and a 6th is a very cheap cost. Just can't see the Hawks being interested in all of Kane's baggage with their young (and getting younger) roster.
