That trade isn't anything close to what the Devils would go for...Not a need

Even though the Wild will have more money to throw around next year despite the last year of the big dead cap hits, I don't think they will want to spend it on goaltending after having already re-signed Gustavsson. Almost 10M spent on two goalies who have struggled this season is way too tough of a pill to swallow.

I think they sooner not give up any assets and either see if Wallstedt is ready to be the backup or perhaps re-sign Fleury for one more go.

If teams have 6m to spend on a goalie, they will find one as a UFA, not give good assets for Markstrom.

Is that Toronto's plan next year? They're gonna run it back with Samsonov, or try their hand at a similarly bad goalie like Kahkonen or Nedeljkovic.

Personally I think it's high time the Leafs addressed goaltender legitimately

The Devils are having problems on defense, so I sent them a good defenseman. That said, Andersen is more of an offensive D man, so I see your point. I just couldn't think of another team that would want him.

Hamilton being out much of the season, Marino being hurt for a whole and Nemec being a rookie are all key problems that aren't 2024-25 problems.

Markstrom hasn't struggled. The Flames have struggled in front of him. He's been receiving some Vezina consideration thanks to some advanced metrics. Like with Andersen though, this really seemed like the best place to put him. That is, unless the Kings part with Cam Talbot in the off-season.

Maybe they get Markstrom. Who knows! This is just one possible outcome for this summer's Markstrom sweepstakes

Markstrom struggled? He's easily been a top 5 goalie in the league this season. I'm not saying Minny should trade for him but don't make dumb comments

Markstrom has been **** since valentine's day.

0.879, 3.5 GAA, -1.93 GSAx. It appears the clock struck midnight and he turned back into a 6 milion dollar pumpkin

Makes sense, I should have looked at hockey-reference before commenting. I still stand by my point of not taking on that much money in goalies, especially with Wallstedt coming. Thanks for the hip check!

I get it, should have looked at hockey-reference before commenting. I still stand by my point of not taking on that much money in goalies, especially an aging one, and with Wallstedt coming. But, thanks for the hip check!

At least try to make a decent argument. Yes he had an absolutely brutal game vs Detroit where he was a -3.15 GSAx, but he was +4.13 over the next 5 games after that. Then he got hurt on the South East road trip but played 2/3 games

Hard to believe that Markstrom is THAT good, when apparently Flames fans think Markstrom has played behind the greatest group of Dmen in the league for the past few years. Hanifan. Tanev, Andersson and Weager. Leafs (and most contenders )don't have the cap Markstrom. Don't know if the Leafs sign Samsonov, but I wouldn't mind at an affordable cap. Samsonov had bad four weeks in December but has stellar since. But the way, 766,000 $ Woll has almost the same stats as Markstrom.
How has having Markstrom worked out for the Flames in the past four seasons?

Petty as always. You realize there are 8 other players on the ice at any given time when 2 of those 4 defensemen were on. They can't stop everything

I never said anything about Markstrom to Toronto, I asked what your solution is because running it back sure as hell should be it.

Markstrom and Woll are not comparable at all lol. Markstrom sits 2nd in the league in GSAx with +30.85, Woll sits 25th with 9.21.
