Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Canes will need to choose between Guentzel or Necas. Can't afford both. Right after the TDL most would have bet on Necas being re-signed and not Guentzel. Not so sure now. If Canes sign Guentzel then they can trade Necas for a young roster player and recoup a high 1st round pick plus more. It seems to be the smarter play. Jarvis on a bridge deal helps Canes re-sign the current free agents except for Skjei and Chatfield. This scenario assumes Morrow and Blake on entry level contracts, and Staal retiring. If Staal does not retire, then another center not named Aho will need to go.

They can sign both, don't overpay Martinook, Pesce and Noesen, move Fast, and they can get it done. Now, is it worth it? It probably means Jarvis get bridged, which means he's getting less than 6.1, probably closer to 5 but they can bring all three of Jarvis, Jake and Necas back.

Return was never released, but it was before the season. All the rumors with the Orlov signing, DeAngelo coming back, etc etc, he was on his way to Buffalo but he nixed it with the M-NTC

Can’t see how Necas is worth Montreal’s 1st alone (currently 6th overall); dude is ok but top 5-10 pick for a 60point winger looking to get paid? Nah, I wouldn’t do it

Guentzel is a rental, just like we had in 2006. He won't re-sign here. Would prefer to sign Necas for 4/5 year deal
