Would we get a 1st plus for Liljegren and Robertson RFA rights

Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 1, 2024
Published: Apr. 1, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just to see if people thik we could get a 1st plus maybe a 3 for the RFA rights of both Liljegren and Robertson, obviously they would have to sign with new club for deal to work.
And which teams might?
I am just thinking to restock our bad prospect pool with more high picks in draft.

The rights idk its 50/50

I think a lot would have to factor in but this FA is loaded with Dman so it could be tricky

Last year was a bit weaker which is why a team like ARI went 2nd for Durzi

why would a team give up a 1st for a 3rd pairing at best defenseman and a midget winger who's not good enough to be top 6 forward and is too small to be a bottom 6 forward?

They wouldn't.

definitely not a 1st + and likely not a 1st at all for the 2 of them. Robertson will be 23 next season and Liljegren is 25 in 4 weeks. i'd be open to a 2nd+ maybe 2 2nds at the very most, but Liljegren at his age and considering how little he's accomplished is not the most enticing.
Robertson definitely has upside and could probably get TOR their 2nd rounder back, but Liljegren is more of a bottom 4 dman than a top4 dman imo

You have no clue, Lijegren has 23 points in 52 games, the only reason he has less games played is because the dirty Marchand slewfoot or this would be a career year for him, 115 blocks and 81 hits and he can skate.
Amd Robertson , the only reason he has reduced stats is because our coach is a complete moron!
At 11 minutes average ice time Robertson in 50 games has 24 points , 12 are goals . imagine if a smarter coach actually played him more minutes!
And as for Robertson size go look up Marchand and see that they are exactly the same size!

On any team other then TML these 2 players would be so much better.
Keefe is the main reason for Robertson lack of production because he simply will not play him more then 11 mins a game
And as for Liljegren our defense core is the worst possibly in the NHL , that did not help Lijegren progress.

Two 2nd from a team like ARI with a mid to lower pick would probably do it.

Midget winger lol, is Marchand a midget? He is exactly the same size , 180 lbs is not small , yes he is shorter at 5 ft 9 but he is 180 lbs that is not a midget , if you have no clue what you are saying why make comments trying to be funny?
And Liljegren is averaging close to 20 minutes a game, that is 3rd pair minutes really?

yawn....
It's funny you are trying to compare him to Marchand. Let me know when he has 80-100 point seasons and is actually a 1st line winger.
until then, he's not good enough to be a top 6 guy, and he's too small to play on the bottom 6. But go on with your midget winger.

you posted you wanted to know.... everyone here told you no, and you do nothing but try to tell us what the value it....... too rich.
3rd pairing and midget bottom 6 guy isn't getting you a 1st.... every post above confirms.

I never compared Marchand to Robertson , are you just trying to troll?
I said his size!
They are the same size does that make Marchand a bad hockey player , no!
So why would it make Robertson a bad player because he is not huge?
It is just a stupid point to make!
Some people said yes a 1st or two 2nds .
A lot of people making comments on this site do not really do any fact checking on players before making comments like you.
If Robertson was on a team with a better coach and less HUGE star players he would get more then 11 minutes a game and would have played more then 50 games!

Hilarious how Leafs fans are always thinking their players are just so much better than they actually are.

Robertson (I will say, I am not high on him - he has way too much injury history at his young age and the Caps already have enough middle 6 wingers) hasn't produced enough to get that kind of return - just plain and simple. Blame the coach, blame the system - whatever you want. But the fact remains, he has not produced enough to return a 1st.
Liljegren is a fine 3rd pairing guy, who can probably slot into a 2nd pairing on a need-to basis (reminds me a lot of TVR, yet younger). That being said, he is certainly not worth a 1st either.

A 2nd would be the most I would want the Caps to offer.

yeah they are the same size, But Marchand plays on the 1st freaking line! So he can get away with it. What part of that don't you get. You aren't going to see him play a grinding role on the 4th and 3rd line.
As I said, he's not good enough to be a top 6 guy, and he's too small to be a bottom 6 player. This isn't rocket science.

You still have no clue what you are talking about he is scoring at .5 per game rate , that is a top 6 forward!
Just because TML are loaded with offensive talent and a bad coach he gets 3rd pair minutes!
How many times do I need to explain this to you so you understand!

sure thing there. Keep believing that. Hell Conor Sheary is a top 6 player too. You should sign him!
After all that one year in PIT he had more than a .5 PPG average.
He's not a top 6 player, you have so much faith in him, please keep him. No one else is interested. Especially at your crazy asking price.
