Additional Details:
Granlund is a solid player who would provide a nice piece alongside Caufield or Suzuki. He adds a nice veteran presance to a young team, and (even on the lowly Sharks) is having a career renissance.

Mario is a nice young defenseman with tons of upside (IMO), and could pair well with the many young guys coming down the pipeline.

As politely as possible, that trade proposal is truly terrible for Montreal and there is no redeeming quality for them. They don't need Ferraro and can get Granlund type of player that doesn't cost them two 1sts.

Habs have Matheson, Guhle, Struble, Harris, Xhekaj, Hutson, Engstrom, Trudeau and Norlinder on LD, there simply isn't room for anyone else.

We also have Slafkovsky playing with Suzuki and Caufield and they are doing just fine as a unit. We will also have whoever we draft with our 1st, Dach and Roy penciled in on the 2nd line, no room for Granlund.

Addison is more than likely not qualified this off-season, at best he gets a 1 year tender below 1 mil.
Zadina will get a 2 year show me bridge deal.

You have retention on 6 players when the max is 3
Guenztle and Reinhard deals would be nice for 2-3 years then throw us back in cap hell when our prospects are coming off their ELC.
And MTL doesn’t need a LD abd doubt they give up 1st for a rental C.

Live the enthusiasm but this isn’t reasonable IMO

To be fair Granlund is infinitely more valuable than Anderson right now!

Not saying OPs deal is a good one from MTL, But Granny is 1,000x more valuable than Anderson and that garbage contract, and Ferraro > Harris and it's not close, especially in terms of a leadership role.

Granlund is easily worth at least a conditional 1st if a 3rd party retained, and Ferraro won't get moved unless it's for a 1st + (especially with the departure of a large part of the SJ leadership), so the value isn't crazy far off, it just doesn't make sense for MTL

WHILE the trade is off in value, Ferraro is miles better than Harris and a legit middle pair guy who has to play way above his pay grade, and granny is gonna be around a 55 pt player. Let’s not act like that duo is remotely similar to the one you proposed.

Tbh i could see us over paying on Addison if it means we can waive him without losing him for free like Knyzhov
