you're insane if you think Kotkaniemis value comes close to that

I thought Anaheim was pretty high on Vaakanainen, but he would help fill the quota of difficult to spell Finish names.

Don't want to scare you, but Jarvis and Necas are getting more than that...

They just have to look at MTL where Suzuki and Caufield make 7.8M$ and they are likely to ask for a similar amount - which is even below market for them.

Canes decline the Nashville trade. I'd rather have KK than picks and Tomasino. KK helps the roster more. Don't hate the idea of Barron, Vaakainenen is a little more of a reclamation project

Lower taxes in Carolina. Players making 5.5 in Carolina take home more than Caufield and Suzuki do, purely because of that.

NSH has a large group of depth centers already (Sissons, Novak, Glass, Pärssinen, McCarron, Jankowski). They have plenty of better options than KK, and they're all a lot cheaper.

Even for a more realistic return, NSH isn't going to have interest.

Urho Vaakanainen has played himself into a spot on the roster, and I can see us trading him for a right-handed forward (RW or C that could be converted to one) or defenseman, but Suzuki is of no interest to us.

Its kind of hard to know. He was a big part of the Lindholm trade with Boston, and we've put a few years development into him, I have a hard time believing now that he's kind of good we walk him for futures, even with our logjam on the left, I see him as a long term bottom 4 defensive D, would be a great partner for Luneau.

That said, he isn't unacquireable, I just think it would have to be for a younger roster player or near NHL ready prospect that is right shot, either up front or in the back.
