Description
Hoping 24-25 is another small step forward and this team gets to a point where the playoffs are at least within sight. Having this young nucleus growing up together is going to be amazing.

Fantilli-Lindstrom-Voronkov-Sillinger is a big, fast and physical set of centers. That is the type of roster that could make teams fear playing against the CBJ for many years.

A lot of Chatter about Voronkov looking to go back to Russia. Which sucks because I really enjoy watching him on the Jackets

Lately? Haven't heard anything about that since early in the season when all his family and friends in Russia told him he better stay and not blow the opportunity just because he was homesick.

Yeah reports are coming out that the AK Bears are looking to resign him and he is looking to go back to Russia to keep playing. It would suck to see it happen, I guess he isn't happy in the United States

Any sources? I definitely heard those things around November, but lately it's all been how much the Russian trio are enjoying living in the same building and are thriving.

New rumors out of Russia. Kazan wants him back big time next year.

That would be such a downer on top of an already awful season for jackets fans. He was one of the few bright spots this year

Yesterday was a triple whammy of bad news for the Jackets, ranging from the devastating tragedy for the Jenners, to the new Voronkov rumors and Laine putting his condo on the market.

Really? Having those centers means you don't need a cheap bottom six winger who's excellent in the shootout and great on the PK? Because he's not a C.

Ak Bars wants him, that doesn't mean he's blowing his shot in the NHL to go back there and make half the money he would - or less - in America.

They were predominantly behind the rumors in November too. I think Vronk has friends there and when he says he misses the motherland, they think there is an opening to try to get him back. However, there is really no substantial evidence that he wants to go back. He has stated he loves Columbus and his teammates and is getting more comfortable in America.

At almost $2,000,000 they have to resign stammer and have guy like Gonclaves, Chaffee, Koepke all ready and cheaper. Along with having Eyssimont who Cooper loves. Resign Motte and Duclair no money thanks anyway.

Laine is moving in with his girlfriend from what I’ve heard. Him selling isn’t related to him leaving Columbus

The rumors of him going back in November were legitimate enough that Jarmo directly addressed them in the media. He's also well beyond his out clause now though so I dunno how easy it'll be for him to leave if he really does want to.

I have to believe that if he wants to leave we wont force him to play out his contract and we will allow him to go home with voiding his contract. Similar to what happened with Hofmann? I think when he left mid season to go back to Switzerland in 2021-2022 season.

Aside from the Voronkov rumors, and the Jenner news, and the Laine news, and the Tarasov injury tonight (man, this season cannot get much worse. I fully expect Chicago and Pittsburgh to win both lotteries)...

This lineup is super promising. It still feels like this team has one too many currently-mediocre top-6 forwards, but if this is what we have, the only changes I'd make are:
          - Flip Johnson and Laine, let Johnson play with the faster Chinakhov and see if they can wreak havoc in transition. Laine would be a dominant 3rd-line scoring forward with some power, and his footspeed is a better match with Jenner
          - Flip Voronkov and Sillinger. Silly is such a good defensive player, and a sneaky good playmaker already. See if he can feed Laine and make that 3rd line a combo of scoring threat and defensive prowess. Voronkov would be overkill on the 4th line, but what are you going to do if that's the center depth?
          - Just buy out Elvis, the tandem should be Greaves-Tarasov by 2025-26.

If everyone reaches/plays up to potential, the defense looks ideal, and the forward core is versatile enough that the coach should just need to find the right line combinations. Honestly, if we're not in the playoffs by 2026, it might be time to tear things down a lot farther.

And if we have another year like this year, it might be time for McConnell to sell the team, and build a new arena that isn't on clearly-cursed ground.
