I went based on evolving hockeys contract predictor...so they would say otherwise...

The Chychrun ship sailed at the trade deadline . . . we need Jordan Spence in the quite likely event that Matt Roy signs elsewhere.

I can't imagine this team going into next season with this goal-tending duo. One of the two needs to be gone and my money is on Korpi (buyout). Regardless on if you think the d zone coverage was atrocious, the goal-tending has been so bad that it literally cost them a playoff spot.

How much will Roy end up getting and is that a number LA is willing to spend? 29 yo RHD having a career year? 4.5 - 5 mil AAV on a 5 year deal?

4M$ x 7 for Matt Roy is god damn crazy lol. No shot he comes to Canada for less than 6.

I hated keeping them as the tandem, but buying out 4 yrs of Korpisalo seems like a massive mistake. And neither seem like trade candidates at all. So run it back and hope the voodoo hits!

Says you...who knows really. I was just going off contract predictions. And I would love to have him in OTT.

That Graves trade is horrendous for Ottawa.

Brannstrom has some positive value and Graves is a cap dump.

The most recent contract prediction I saw for Matt Roy was 4 years @ $5.58M, and that was one of the conservative ones. I've not seen any projections that have him at less than $5M.

6'5 vs 5'10...I'd get rid of Branny for that any day. And Graves is cost controlled. I'd be interested to hear PIT fans opinions...

The CGY trade works for me. Duehr has mostly been the odd man out under Huska, and I don't mind taking a flyer on Bernard-Docker.

Yes for 4 years. correct. If you add more term the contract comes down...

I think that $5.6 million x 5 seasons is the max that the Kings will go. That would mean foregoing a quality winger for Pierre-Luc DuBois (like, for example, re-signing Viktor Arvidsson).

If by cost controlled you mean hopelessly overpaid then yes.

Brannstrom is *actually* cost controlled being an RFA.

There are more metrics than height by the way.

Lol. I know, but have you seen Branny in front of his own net?

Not by over $1.5M per season. You might be able to get the AAV down to $5.25M if you give him 7 years.

Yes, that is a problem. The solution is not to royally f.uck the Sens in the ass for the next 5 years.

Pens' fan opinion: Graves has been a poor fit in Pittsburgh. His performance is down accross the board. You want him? He's yours.

No way PIT takes that trade. Brannstrom holds no value to the penguins. They already got 2 offensive defensemen. They don't need a 3rd. They need 3rd pairings who can PK and play heavy minutes in their end.
Graves has not been the problem for PIT all year. None of the numbers show that. The 3rd pairing though has bled like 30 goals on the season. Ludvig alone has bled 12 goals in 5v5 play.
Graves on the other hand is still a net + on 5v5 play for as "bad" as people want to call him, and that's with him being paired with EK and Letang. Who are notorious for leaving their partner exposed and making bonehead decisions.
Anyone calling him over paid has no idea what they are talking about. He got average 2LD money.... and he's an average 2LD.
The reason penguins fans are so awful to him, is they expected a Prim Dumo in a dirt cheap Dumo contract..... Well they aren't getting that in FA. They should have known better and tapered their expectations. He's an average 2LD, on an average 2LD contract. They aren't going to move that for a guy who would either go to AHL or is a small trade chip getting moved out. As he doesn't really fit the team. You can't pair him with either Letang or EK, and he's not exactly a 3rd pairing guy.
