Ottawa will give you 1 of those 2 picks if Pittsburgh retains half of Reilly Smith's salary.

at the expense of our biggest weakness, flyers need centers, and won't be trading them unless it is for a significant upgrade or to get out from the couturier contract. especially a center like frost, he is the only player on the team who can create anything from nothing. poehling just signed an extension, he's not getting moved

goaltending (shockingly) isn't a need. ersson has simply been burnt through the ground. when he gets 40+ hours rest, he has a .910, anything else he's a .885 (stats were from a few days ago so have changed, but reasoning still holds true). with a legit backup/1B (which fedotov/kolosov will be), this won't be an issue

graves is alright, but again, not a significant need given that LHD for next year are york, sanheim, seeler, zamula, andrae, and ginning. next to no need to add a middle pair dman who's signed for 5 more years given that they won't need him in 2 years time

It's starting to look pretty bad already. He is basicly a 2nd line center now and is getting paid almost 8mil.

I mean if we wanted out of the Coots deal I doubt we would've named him captain.

Hawks probably decline. Can't see Poulin or those two picks being that attractive to Chicago. And the 4 years remaining on Rakell, even w/ the retention, is probably a dealbreaker anyway.

not 'want out of it,' it's just the only conceivable way a center is traded. oft-injured 50-60 point defensive center making 7.75 million for 6 more years is not pretty
