Description

Calgary acquires another top 10 pick from Ottawa to select both Tij Iginla and Carter Yakemchuk or if Cayden Lindstrom is still around him and Iginla or Yakemchuk.

The NJ trade only happens if one of Yakemchuk or Catton is still available when NJ's pick is up. Iginla will almost certainly be gone by then (hopefully taken by Calgary).

Calgary has plenty of cap space to make big splashes in either or both the free agent and trade markets too.

5th-7th OA has value, Ottawa paid around 12th-13th + for Chychrun last year so it's probably not that far off. I don't see Ottawa doing it as Andersson doesn't fit their needs outside of the way he holds his stick.

If we were to do it though I would take Catton if he's still available. Regardless of what OP thinks of him, he is easily one of the most skilled players in the draft

I'd pass on Catton and go for Iginla + Yakemchuk. Unless Lindstrom is still available but that's very unlikely. We need a few good young players size, grit and physicality a lot more than yet another little guy. If you want to be like Buffalo then keep drafting soft and/or little players based mostly on how many points they got in their draft year and wondering why you either can't make the playoffs or get physically dominated pushed around and eliminated in the 1st round all the time.
