Don't see why we're paying Boston take Hayes, a 5th doesn't even cover the retention. Hard pass on trading Buch for Chych. Don't really see a need for the last one. I'd rather spend 2nds to move up this summer, even if ET is a nice winger to have.

laugh laugh The Jakob Chycheun trade is hysterical, Sorry but Buchnevich and a 5th round pick isn't getting Chychrun out of Ottawa.

I don't think that moving Chychrun for Buch solves any problems for Ottawa but I don't hate it. tbh I have no clue how the value really works out

Hayes really doesn’t fit what Boston needs. He’s not a top 6 forward and they will likely fill the need in free agency.

I’m sure you can get better for Hayes, but Boston isn’t likely to be interested in either Hayes OR Krug retained even if they are free

I'm not suggesting Boston should be interested in Hayes, but the retention alone would cost more than a 5th. Was more about the return.

That’s a fair statement which was why I said you should get more for him.

I think he’d be a good target for Salt Lake as they try to fill salary. Useful third line center and with retention, his salary is probably less than what he’d get on the open market.

This would not be like with Krug where retention is designed to get him close to market value.
