CBJ pass. Very mid package with some dumps that we don’t need, and that’s even before we talk (1) retention; and, (2) trading inter-division a player with term.

Robertson would have been 3rd on your team in goals / 60 min and 4th on your team in actual goals at 5v5 (while playing only 56 games & 11 min / game), but 👌.

There’s not even a dump lmao, that’s just making the cap work id assume, not saying we should make that trade from a pens standpoint, but the package is actually pretty good for an underachieving, injury prone winger. But yeah the retention is a huge thing.

Laine isn't underachieving; when he's played in union blue, he's near-PPG. The injuries have largely been freak accidents, but yes, there've been entirely too many of them, so it's not unreasonable to hesitate on that basis. If we opt to move him, we'd want a package that's commesurate with a top-line near-PPG winger.

I'm saying that they arent worth two 2nd round picks together. I think I worded my previous comment wrong. Maybe a 2nd and 5th for both of them. But we also have no interest in Timmins. Smith at 50% is also worth a 3rd at least. So overall this is an overpayment for the pens. Smith retained and a 3rd for Robertson is fair, you could make an argument for a 2nd instead of a 3rd but no more than that.

Yeah, I imagine Eller is in there for cap-balance; but, you're still talking a B6 F, which CBJ are already flush with, and doesn't add anything for CBJ. We'd probably just buy him out.

I know nothing about those prospects; but, I do know PIT's system is considered pretty weak, so can't say that really is a needle-mover.

The first is the get here, particularly if we are betting on PIT's decline to continue, and that '26 pick being top-half of the draft (or the '27 one being even higher). It's a better asset the more I think about it, but it's all based around a gamble.

That is understandable, eller was just one of our better, tbh probably best FA. It is indeed bad, but Koivunen is a pretty damn good prospect, he’s PPG forward in Liiga, low scoring league and 20yo, Ilyin is 19, half PPG forward in KHL, so not as good, but could be decent if he grows more. Yeah i think both the 2026 and 2027 1st round picks should be untouchable, so imo no shot this happens, but it’s interesting.

If dubas trades another 1st round pick he should be fired on the spot.
This is a bottom 10 finish club until otherwise proven differently.

Do you mean move up. Montreal gets a 4th in 2026. Moving Kovacevic and a 2024 7th in the process.
