laugh Rebuild over, Sorry dude it doesn't work that way. Rebuilds last 8-10 years and your prospect pipeline isn't that great.

top 5 "rebuild" core in the league easily, get real. The only team that made a rebuild last that long is f***ing Buffalo, no rebuilds last that long

Duh try Edmonton, And Montreal isn't in the top 5 for prospects more like close to 10th if that.

Lets me guess, Detroit is in the top 5. I’ll bet you that Mtl will be a competitive team before Detroit get back in the mix.

9 millions is a lot of money for a guy’s they dont really need. Hronek doesn’t deserve that kind of money.

Find me a better young player pipeline in defense than: Guhle, Hutson, Mailloux, Reinbacher, Xhekaj, Harris, Struble, Barron, Engstrom, Bogdan Konyushkov. Highly doubt you find more than 2. Add along one of the best goalie prospects in the league, and Suzuki, Slaf, Caufield, Dach, Newhook, Roy, 2024 1st in the top 6 forward core.

Yeah, not sure there are many teams with a better future than us.

And EDM were the Buffalo of the past, so not really the norm

Sorry Seider, Edvinsson, Wallinder, Buium, Sandin Pellikka. Our D pipeline is every bit better than yours. Detroit's D will be top 5 in the league within 5 years easily. Our forward and Goaltending are a country mile better than Montreals.

Wallinder, Buium are literally worse than at least 6 of our guys and they're your #4-5. Kinda sad honestly. Hutson clears ASP. Guhle also clears Edvinsson. The only thing going for you is Seider, but with Mailloux and Reinbacher, plus the rest of the depth, we easily beat you guys.

Canucks aren’t trading Hronek for a late 1st, a cap dump RHD, and a #4/5 LHD

Seider has also been pretty underwhelming since his rookie year. Not completely out of the question that Reinbacher ends up better. I’m neither a Habs or Wings fan so speaking from an unbiased standpoint I’d definitely take Montreal’s young defense pipeline over Detroit’s

Reinbacher < Seider (Seider is overrated though)
Guhle > Edvinsson
Hutson > ASP
Mailloux > Wallinder
Barron >/= Buium

That also doesn’t even include other young Habs dmen that have played in the NHL (Harris, Xhekaj, Struble). Habs definitely have a better young defensive pipeline

I'll defend Seider here and say he's done his role perfectly. He puts up good points even if he isn't putting 50 pts, and is playing amazing defensively, also eating up good minutes (and is paired with bums a lot of times), but I do greatly appreciate your backup here!

With Barron losing his exemption status next year and Washington already having a glut of NHL RD with Carlson, Jensen, Van Riemsdyk, and Bear, a 2nd for Barron isn't very enticing. Maybe for a lower price the Caps could consider it but given that Barron has yet to play a full NHL season, it's a bit of a hard sell.
