Sabres have a history of trading up for guys they really like so it wouldn't surprise me but I think the general feeling for this draft class is lukewarm at best. Id be shocked if they really needed that one spot jump for a guy they like but you never know.

If SJ gets Celebrini I could see them doing this to take a D that might not fall to 14 (ideally a RHD Yak/Parehk).

If SJ doesn't win #1 and they take Lev then less likely for them to trade up, but maybe if a top 6/7 consensus guy they like falls then who knows.

I think I’d rather San Jose just stay at 14. You’re getting a very similar player at 10 and 14. I think they want those mid draft picks to take a shot at a goalie which they didn’t get last draft

I agree...especially in this draft where guys from 5-15 all look around the same.

Walman should be made available. Probably won't though. A bit of a down year I would agree. I think he was battling injuries alot this year. Would be hard to determine value, I wouldn't package him with our 1st though. Losing him to upgrade wouldn't be worth it. Walman and a second I doubt gets it done either. Maybe adding Veleno or something in. Who knows though, really hard trade to gauge. Willing to discuss proposals tough.

I would do that. Veleno had a really nice year. Doesn't put up much for points but for a bottom 6 option, he is pretty decent and improving.

I'm not great at gauging the value of trading down. I have Walman something like the Sandin price of a very late 1st, would that be equivalent to the 2nd+ moving up? idk

10th and 12th in the draft will yield the same level of player. Flyers decline. They need to draft as many players as they can to hope to hit.

I’d be in favor of trading up for an organizational need. Like if we got Celebrini and Buium or Parekh were still on the board as opposed to drafting whoever is still available even if they have similar skill levels until from like 5-12/13/14. From what I’ve read there isnt really a standout goalie this year and not one that would be in range of any of the sharks picks in the first two rounds. We can get fourths from just about anywhere with any combination of Zadina, Addison, Burroughs, Benning, Ruuta, Romanov etc.

Yeah I agree too, it has to be someone who falls and San Jose has on their draft board. Assuming it would be a defenseman.

I could agree if the Sabres were to get wind that other team(s) want to move to NJ's spot and there is a player they really want Adams might do it.

I agree SJS needs everything un less it's a player they can't live without, it doesn't make much sense to give up 3 picks to move up 4 spots especially when the high end talent drops out between 5 - 7.

The top 3 are trades that you could see being made. But moving up 1 to 3 spots it would depend on who's still available at 10 and how bad they'd want that player.

The bottom 6 are non playoff teams or teams that just got in to the playoffs and they won't give up that many picks to get the 10th pick. But you did say those are the ones that seem off.

Have you ever gone through past drafts where only picks were traded and compared them to the Draft Pick Value Chart?

Pick value charts are notoriously inaccurate lol.
