Every response you have given has indicated or have tried to manifest he is the biggest problem and Woll is a messiah saviour you can doubt it but through responses to me, Random and others its pretty evident lul
Why has Sammy gotten the benefit of the doubt he aint the main issue. He owes them 2 goals in 4 games. 2 of 14 thats 14% of the goals against this series thats nothing lul
Again as we keep telling yah if they were playing like last year 5 on 5 and special teams wise and were still down in the series yes Sammy would be the issue but in this case were seeing there's bigger problems at hand. He has given them ample opportunity to win if they had kept up their scoring from the regular season and carried the special team numbers over to the playoffs but they didnt.
Leafs have the third worst PP in the NHL with only NSH and LA being worse. And those teams dont have Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, etc.
Even with Woll in net nothing changes if this team does not score dont know how that can be any clearer. Leafs are going with the only option they have besides a line blender or coach firing. Rather than try new PP tactics nah lets just do this. Woll may be calm and make 1 or 2 more stops dont matter if we cant score lul. We saw that already in the final 2 reg games vs. BOS both 4-1 losses. Anyways done with this convo but again nothing changes unless we start scoring and special teams start clicking thats all there is to it.
Once again an extreme take where you take all my words out of context. Not sure why but it makes this incredibly difficult to have a conversation.
No where on this thread have I ever said Sammy is the biggest problem. Your last response accuses me of inferring that. My exact words the whole time are Sammy is a problem. Not the biggest problem or the only problem. He's a problem. And it can't be denied that he hasn't been good enough.
Considering his entire playoff career, his first half of the season, how he ended the season and his results in the playoffs, it's pretty clear he's not consistent enough and his bad out weighs his good. The numbers are clear 21 playoff games and a sub .900 sv% and 3+ GAA. He's not a playoff goalie. Or really all that effective over a full season in the NHL.
We know what Sammy is, it's not a world class goalie who can steal you a game or two, he's sometimes really good and often below average. On the playoffs he's almost always below average and the softies he lets in are back breakers.
TO had the momentum in game 3, and he let in a garbage goal that let Boston back in it. Yeah the PP needs to be better as does the PK. But Sammy is a part of the PK. Listen to Kyper and Bourne from yesterday. Sammy looked silly on the JVR goal, he over sold on the PP goal to put them up 2-0. He's all instincts and athletics and if he loses his focus which he does often, he is prone to softies.
I get it, he can be absolutely incredible almost unbeatable and it's so exciting when he's on his game. But his athleticism gets him in trouble and makes it harder for defenders.
So after 21 playoff games enough is enough. 3 goals against is too much and we have a guy who has shown great things at times. I have no worries about Woll handling the pressure, he did so marvelously last year when he came in in game 4 vs Florida.
