Trading a 32yr old defenseman at $6m x 1yr for a 32 yr old defenseman $3m x 2yr contract doesn't really sound that appealing.

TVR is better defensively then Schmidt, which is something they need based off the Avs series right now. you also clear up 3 mill in cap to put towards a guy like tanec

Better to use a forward to trade for a better defenseman than TvR, Ehlers and Perfetti I can see in rumours this offseason.

Tanev isn't going to sign in Winnipeg and Hartman isn't going to waive. Dillon and Brossoit are likely gone. Also, with Lowry as the 2C, the team isn't making the playoffs.

My guess is that Bowness retires, he has plenty of legitimate off-ice reasons to do so.

fair enough, i dont see ehlers or fetts getting moved though i feel like if the jets want a legitimate defender theyll take a run at Pesce instead. theres a lot of mid contracts on the team and this isnt a making then cup contenders offseason sadly, itll probably be a rougher year next year

it could happen? wild have a ton of forwards and want to probably let them get more playing time. yes itll be interesting to see how he fits lmao but im sure it would be fine from that standpoint. thats why its online gm and not irl

I could see Ehlers moved if he doesn't want to re-sign. I guess the first chance of clarity will be the garbage bag day interviews. If Ehlers emphatically signals he wants to stay, then the ball is in Cheveldayoff court. If his comments are neutral or negative, then I can see a summer full of speculation like last offseason with Scheifele and Hellebuyck.

Edit: The Jets will have to give up someone they don't want to give up to get a top 4 RD.

Trading Iafallo for an unneeded player is pointless. Trade him for a pick and gain the cap space.

It's silly to downgrade one year of a better player for 2 years of a 33YO defenseman with a bad contract.

No interest in throwing away good pieces to get stuck with Hartman's bloated extension.

Way too much for Tanev.

No you're also wasting a contract/roster spot on a worthless player coming to Winnipeg.

Sens aren't gonna move JoDo for an overpaid 3rd liner. Iafallo isn't bad or anything but there are just so many better ways to spend that money without also giving up a decent prospect in the process

Thanks. Good luck especially with the Habs and Leafs. It can get very spicy.
