Guhle is 20 time more valuable than either Holtz or Rossi. Not even a debate.

Habs wouldnt pay more than the wpg 1st for rossi (they dont want him anyways) and the 13th pick isnt enough for guhle. No dman available at 13 will be a 20+ mins nhl dman in the next 3 years.

It makes 0 sense for the habs

Montreal fans: Hutson Struble Xhekaj Matheson Harris are all studs
Others: so move Guhle for actual value
Montreal fans: NOOO we can't replace Guhle

A lot of them show exactly how they truly feel about the other habs LD when it comes time to put their chips down.

Not remotely.

We have 0 use for rossi we would rather have the wpg 1st

Theres no dman at 13 whos a material improvement on guhle projection wise and they have to hit to even be at guhles level. Theres 0 incentive to take that gamble.

Depends what you think of dman that will be available. I am guessing Levshunov, Dickinson, Buium are probably gone. Saliyev, Parekh maybe gone. Jiricek, Sahlin Wallenius, Yakemchuk, Kiviharju, Emery all available at 13, gone by 27.

Could also trade 13th pick for pretty good dman

A pretty good dman....like kaiden guhle?

Unless your giving us luke hughes instead of the pick why wpuld we trade the 9th youngest nhl regular dman for at best a older worse dman.

Or a slightly older, better dman like Martin Fehevary could probably be had for that pick. @NHLFan10506 keep Rossi and trade 13th overall to Washington for Fehevary

Guhle looks good, but is probably closer to Bahl than Luke.

And MTL has a bunch of LHD. If they can turn one into Rossi and top prospect, I’d think that would be a win.

Na. Guhle was better 5 on 5 than hughes and kills penalties which luke didnt this year. Given we have huston already i would much rather kaiden

Guhle's supposed advantage over most guys is his very difficult role. Fehevary plays an identically tough role.

Fehevary has better results tho.

I highly doubt that. Bahl is a bottom pair guy, Guhle is easily a top 3 D, same for Hughes. Sure, Hughes is the better offensive player, but Guhle has the upper hand defensively. Hughes is an offensive D, while Guhle is more of a 2-way D, so they aren’t really the same type of guy. Hughes receives the point for being a year younger, but comparing this season, they aren’t that far off realistically

Well it's not dissimilar from arguing that the NJD should trade away Nemec because they already have Hamilton, Marino and Casey within the organization.

Except NJD doesn't have dman about to lose their waiver exemption status. And casey will be back in college next year

The only LHD losing his waiver exemption this summer is Xhekaj and given Hughes' MO it's likely that Hutson and Struble at least start the season in the AHL. MTL isn't in a much tougher position than last season with regards to waivers.

Will have to pass through waivers next season (4): Harris, Kovacevic, Matheson, Savard

Will likely lose waiver exemption next year (5): Barron, Guhle, Norlinder, Struble, Xhekaj

Will keep waiver exemption next year (4): Hutson, Mailloux, Reinbacher, Trudeau
