If you could choose your defensive partner

Let's say you made the NHL as a defenseman, and you can choose a specific defenseman, and don't make the team that they play in be the reason you pick them.
I would go Chris Tanev, he madefringe 3rd pairing defenseman (Luca Sbisa), look like a top 4 dman

Drew Doughty. He plays such a complete game that his partner has a ton of freedom because he's responsible in all three zones

Well, since I'm a righty, I'd like my partner to be a lefty. Someone somewhat experienced to cover up for me, someone who can handle some offense as well. I think Hedman is the guy I'd love to have ideally, but someone like Chara, Giordano or even Keith would be cool

I shoot Right so if we're talking in the NHL i'd say McDonagh because i could play for the Rangers. I mean, the Isles would be fun to play for too. They're my favourite teams tied, but NYI has bad ice and might be leaving NY City. So i'll say McDonagh cause he'd be fun to play with, shoots left, and plays for the Rangers.

sorry, didn't notice that. I'll pick ... hmmmm ... let me think about it. i'll give an answer later. or maybe Karlsson because he's a good 2 way player ... i'm more of a one-way (defensive) defenseman. Even though he shoots right, you know, i play a similar game to Cody Ceci who's sometimes playing with Karlsson.
